so called 'Tumblr Feminists'

This is a key term, IMO. Like any major social movement, modern feminism has a militant wing, and it is starting to dominate discussion of what are otherwise very valid and important issues, thus making it more difficult to address them.

Movements need moderates, lest they achieve the opposite of what they intend.

I'm not "feminist" because of the people who call themselves feminists.

Oh man, another one, huh? I must say, I don't think it's fair to say all feminists are like that, though. There are some perfectly reasonable women with male friends who just like equal treatment, though I don't really treat them differently to anyone else anyway. But yeah, I think the main problem is that it's a lot of the asshole feminists that are the ones that get all the coverage and get out there which paints a really bad image of everyone else. Though I feel that gender inequality is going to be a lot like racism. You can try and enforce it all you want, but those who want to be against women being treated completely equally won't be talked around. Those who WILL treat women like average humans probably already do so.

I never intended to make a generalization because IMO the only generalization that is fair is that generalizations are typically unfair.

Oh, fair enough. I get it's kind of hard to make heads or tails of a generalisation through text alone. My apologies.

I am an Anti-Feminist. Feminism is not about equal rights, and i have a feeling it never was. And let's be clear here. Feminism is not synonymous with Women. Feminism is an ideology, Women are not, they are human beings plain and simple who deserve the common courtesy and rights like anyone else. No special rights or special treatment as possible under the law, same with Men, no special rights or treatment and common courtesy.

(I am a firm believer in earning respect, not just giving it out because some one has a different set of genitals than you do)

We all know that the "Radical" Feminists are in charge and in positions of power in politics, education, psychology etc. What baffles me is why these NAFALT (Not All Feminists Are Like That) people who are in that movement, don't denounce what these radicals say and do. They should be kicking them out of that movement. Radicals are bad for a movement for equal rights.

If they ARE for Equal rights. Like some say they are, then why are the actions they take not adding up to it? Equal rights should be for everyone it doesn't matter what religion or belief they hold (or lack there of), sex, race, creed, transgender, straight, bi lesbian, etc.

Feminism really shits me. A friend told me that a woman she works with kicked up a massive fuss because there was a sign in the foyer of their office building that said "workmen must take their shoes off when entering the blah blah blah..." just because the sign said workMEN, seriously two innocent young girls just got gang raped and hung in India and women are whinging about bullshit like this

You make a damn fine case, I often inform the NAFALTers that actions speak louder then words, and the actions seem to add up against the NAFALT regardless of if they want it to or not. But moderate feminists do not actually do anything but fall victim to con-job feminists ( like FeministFrequncy) or apologies for the radicals.

Well first off, you came to this tread of your own devices. Secondly this tread is suppose to be a place of discussion of a particular viewpoint anyone who has a problem with that does not have to be here.

Just saying.. there has already been posts about this before.. and it always ended badly.. Why the fuck do you even need to post about these type of stuff, people here.. are, hmm, sensitive?

It takes time for good ideas to overcome bad ones. We are trying our best over here though, I promise!

Indeed, actions do speak louder than words. You can believe, but make sure you pay fine attention to the action taken.

Well I apologies for not fearing the very notion that I might think differently then others, or having the absurd assumption that I should not speak for my ideals in case someone does not like it. I need to post about it because I need to post this type of stuff because I am angry with the state of affairs and believe that good ideas can overcome bad ideas.

The problem is that it shouldn't be. No ideology or logic or theory should be beyond reproach and judgement. If you are saying Feminism is a sensitive matter that shouldn't be talked about because it might offend people, you are inturn putting it on the top shelf alongside Religion.
If what you're saying is true then Feminists are zealots who can't take criticism of their ideology.

I don't think anyone is disputing the need and want for equality, I think the only people who would dispute that are the heads of various religions, companies and countries, and their followers.

Feminism is a movement and collection ideas, I as a free thinking person should be able to critique that idea without people saying 'Hey you shouldn't talk about it you may offend people' and likewise receive a retort either contradicting my ideas, agreeing or compromising. That is what Freedom of Speech is.
