Well, yeah. I consider anime that has romance (usually a lot of it) in it to be a romance. It was a romantic drama, not really a tragedy, at least not in my eyes.

How is that anything but sad?

Yeah it's sad but I don't see the series as a whole as a tragedy. I guess we just have different requirements for what we consider a tragedy. Anyway, my stance on NANA being a romantic drama still stands.

Eh, I tend to fluctuate depending on my mood. I love Comedy, Romance and Drama but I always seem to get an itch for a good Action Adventure every now and again too.

I have a lot less patience for anime that lacks a coherent story than I used to.

If it looks good, I watch it. Same with the tropes and all that stuff. I just go with it. Tsunderes? Love them. Lolis? Don't mind them either.

Back in grades 6 & 7 I mainly watched and preferred slice of life, romance, and comedy. Now I prefer shounen, seinen, psychological, and pretty much anything dark or with action. I still go for my middle school preference's variety, just not as often.

6th and 7th: Baka and Test, Fruits Basket, School Rumble, Fruits Basket, and Ouran High School Host Club
Now: Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Durarara!!, Baccano!, Shiki, and Soul Eater

Nope, I can't say that it has.

I mean, I have preferences, but I've always been open to basically anything.

Off topic, but what did you use for that anime breakdown?

Actually, yes, yes it has. As a kid I was all over the shonen/action shows. As a teen I added in ecchi shows to the action/shonen.

Now while I'll definitely still watch action/shonen and ecchi shows, my main passion now are character study shows. So you give me a good show where the main focus is the characters and their growths, I am all over that.

When i was a kid, most anime i`ve watched were filled with Battle Shounen but i started to dislike it when i reached at the age of 18.

I prefer Seinen, Harem with Goodly-written characters, slapstick comedy, Slice of Life, Fantasy, Sci-fi and more.

I've always had many tastes. I just liked, and still like mostly everything as long as it's done well.

My favorite genre of all though, is Cyber Punk (ergo proxy, GITS), followed closely by feudal Japan era stuff. My taste is changed in a way that I just can't handle bad writing anymore. It isn't really so much about the genre. I'll watch anything so long as it's written well and intriguing.

Mine definitely changed from when I started way back in... ~2012, I loved FMA:Brotherhood and figured I would like shounen. But SoulEater got meh after a while, and Fairy Tail... I don't want to talk about it.

I also kind of liked harem at first, but I've seen too many potentially interesting plots ruined by the same harem antics, so now I try to avoid harem shows.

I always liked shows that had a more serious edge to them starting with Death Note, as well as one of my favorites, Psycho-Pass. Also always liked comedy, of which Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei is my favorite (and which I rewatch all the time).

I will appreciate a good romance - which I rarely find in anime. Golden Time was close, but it had some... stuff. Still, I did find it better than Toradora. *enable:flame shields*

I found both to be super addicting, I totally binge watched the heck outta both of em. But they both fell prey to the all-too-common trap of having completely unsatisfying endings, IMHO.

Agreed; I think I also watched Toradora in pretty short order (watched Golden Time as it came out). I'm pretty sure I enjoyed Toradora overall, but over time, the not-so-great ending was mostly what remained in memory.

I'm happy with any genre other than horror or supernatural thriller (so long as it's not atrociously written), and always have been.

I'm very fond of romance animes, but both Toradora and Golden Time were very meh for me. I managed to watch through Toradora because the characters were actually characters, but I gave up on Golden Time since the characters just felt like walking plot points to me.
