Can't really fault CR on this one, Rail Wars wasn't going to come outside NA with TBS helming the distribution.

Wow, we actually have three anime (SNAFU, Rozen Maiden and Stella Women's Academy) and the drama they've published here. I was under the impression they had not licensed anything for us.

I don't know if someone has said this before but I was just thinking why doesn't crunchy let the us, the viewers, decide what gets added ?
Based on majority vote? Or something.

I just don't like the anticipation of which show will be added and the disappointment when the show I want to see doesn't get added

It doesn't work that way... CR tries to get everything that comes out, but they are not the only company competing for the license rights. They get what they can though, and much more than any other legal site does.

They do have a place for premium-only members to suggest what to try to get (you may or may not be able to see this thread: /forumtopic-588949/what-seriesmoviedramamanga-would-you-like-to-see-on-cr), but even then, those are only suggestions; they can't always get what you want.

Thanks for the new JDrama series (Hoping for more; still waiting for those other Fuji TV titles...)

Interested in Rail Wars, but I wonder if someone else will have it for the UK? (Animax?)

To respond to asharka, I do wonder how many of the currently 443 titles at crunchyroll.com/videos/anime/alpha?group=all were anime titles that users suggested CR get.

That's like asking "How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie-Pop?" (The world may never know...)

I know of two that I personally asked for that have shown up, (I wasn't the only one for either one though), but whether it was actually because I asked, or whether they would have gotten them anyway, that isn't something you would ever get a definitive answer on. One thing's for sure, if you don't ask, then there's even less chance of getting it. I suspect it's something more along the lines of "Well, should we get this prior show now that it's available? Nah, no one ever asked for it, so why bother..." Then again they added One-Piece and Fairy Tale, very likely due to high customer demand, and I would have never thought that would happen, since Funi already had both of those..

Killing me here Crunchy! I`ve resolved myself to withhold participating in the Summer season until I clear some of the stuff off my want to watch list, as its grown far too long. You guys keep getting the titles I want to watch! Ahhhhhhhhhh this is going to be hard! At leas they`ll be here when I decide to watch them I suppose. Probably would have been a better idea for me to not look at the previews before hand -_-

If there is a catalog title you'd like to see, no harm in asking.

No real point in asking for simulcasts, though, since they try to get them all anyway. All the simulcasts are there "because the licensor said yes".

I don't recall who all had what in the UK, but these are the TBS published series that started on Crunchyroll in the last two seasons:

The Kawai Complex Guide ~ North America Only
Love, Chunibyo 2 ~ North America Only
Sakura Trick ~ North America Only

(Hmmm ... 1 of 2 North American only last season, 2 of 3 North America only in Winter ...
... I wonder if there's a pattern there ...)

... if any of those made it to another UK streaming site, there's hope ... if all three did, there's a pattern.

"A pretty significant chunk" as in, one series???

One North American only series and one not-to-North America series means that international access is very unusually widely spread so far.

The Netherlands, for instance, have as many anime series as North America. Eastern Europe (Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Czech Republic) have as many series as North America.

Now, I don't expect the good news on the international licensing to last, but its just misleading to say that the UK problems is "all the series that are North America only". The UK problem is "all the series that are being poached or are licensed by a company with a European branch that doesn't like streaming".

Both Kawai Complex and Chunibyo are on Animax. Since Autumn 2012, Kaze have been picking up titles from TBS so it looks like Rail Wars could end up on Animax. Hopefully it won't suffer the same fate as Outbreak Company and Sakura Trick.

Considering ADN (France) and AoD (Germany) haven't made any mention of Sailor Moon, it looks like Niconico is the only place for us Europeans to watch it....Thanks Toei.

I'm wondering how much lack of UK access on Crunchyroll will be due to Animax this season. Their catalog seems to be growing recently with the addition of some Spring 2014 titles now available. I'm considering their six months for £3.99 a month offer, but waiting for their announcement for this seasons simulcasts first.

Fate/kaleid liner Prisma Illya 2wei! is a very good bet. There isn't much reason CR wouldn't get it.

Akame ga Kill will likely go to CR, but there is always a small chance Funimation could nab it. I really expect we'll find out Saturday during or after CR's AX panel.

UPDATE:

It appears you can count on CR getting Akame:
http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2014-07-04/sentai-filmworks-licenses-chaika-the-coffin-princess-7-summer-anime-titles/.76300

If Sentai has licensed it, you can bet CR will be streaming it.

The same applies for Blue Spring Ride (Ao Haru Ride), Invaders of the Rokujyōma!?, and Sabagebu! -Survival Game Club!

It's not like Crunchyroll just randomly picks where they make these shows available. First off the licensor needs to be willing to allow CR to make their shows available in any given area. If the licensor is willing then they need to make it available at a price that CR can reasonably pay, and that's not even counting whatever laws said region has regarding content. I'm sure that Crunchyroll would make every series available worldwide if they could, but sometimes that just isn't feasible. Blaming Crunchyroll for the way the system works won't really help any, because there's only so much that they can do.
