fireworks! cute red, white, and blue clothes! grilling out! uuuh... ice cream?

i love my country so it means a lot. fireworks. doesn't matter that i may dislike/disagree with the gov't or the president, it's still my country and i believe in the values it was founded upon.

I never really cared about it. And I don't like to celebrate it considering the majority of Americans don't even know the actual reason why America parted from Britain. Americans bash the British but it was actually us that were the assholes during that time.

I used to enjoy it and celebrate it but with all the post 9/11 nationalism (or is it post Reagan?) that I'm exposed to on a daily basis it kinda wears thin.

Means I stay at home sick all day while my family goes out and has fun, not that I would have gone if I was healthy. It's not on the same level as Arbor Day and Casimir Pulaski Day for me.
