Hey guys,

lugiamania here live from the back rooms of the Crunchyroll booth at AX! We've got some more summer title announcements coming your way, with Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 2 AND BARAKAMON today!

The horror stories continue as Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 2 enters the second season of ghastly encounters. Based on Japanese myths and urban legends, the series mimics the stories told by tradition Japanese storytellers using kamishibai (paper theater). Takashi Shimizu and Noboru Iguchi, who also worked on The Grudge and NuigulumarZ, will each be directing an episode on Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories 2.

Yamishibai 2 will be available to Crunchyroll’s Premium members worldwide ex Asia, with free members being able to watch in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, the Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden, starting on Sunday, July 6th, at 11:30am Pacific Time.

Shame that BARAKAMON won't be aired in the US. Was genuinely excited.

Its almost like funimation WANTS people to get this shit by nefarious means.

Barring some unknown abnormal circumstance, Sentai licensing it guarantees it'll be on CR.

Damn it, and Funimation did it again, I won't be able to watch legally a series I was eagerly expecting thanks to them and the licensor. I'm really angry and sad for Barakamon that is not available in my region, now to the *clasificated information* to go with this one . Please, CR, try to do something about this issue, it's not fair Why Funimation have to keep the rights to stream an anime in a region they don't care about , specially in a region where the only streaming service that offers legal anime simulcast in their language is Crunchyroll.

And thanks for Yamishibai 2, I loved the 1st season.

That could very well happen since Sentai announced that they have Akame ga Kill at their Anime Expo panel.

And with no NA streaming for Barakamon, I suppose there's a chance that FUNi has it? This was a show I was looking forward to, so I'm hoping it streams somewhere.

CR needs to get an urgent agreement with Funimation; they never sold us their series and were blocking their streaming pages is not fair that we have to pay the piper; Funimation always blocks to Latin america

I'd gladly pay (CR) a little more to get this stuff, if thats what it takes.

I mean whatever money they get from CR would be far more than they get from torrents and other sites (zero).

I am very excited for more Yamishibai but I am getting ticked off at seeing CR get partial licenses for anime that don’t include the US. I understand that CR has an international audience but CR is a US based company. Let’s put it this way, I am certain that many of them are huge anime fans and don’t like that they will be forced to use a competitors inferior product to enjoy Barakamon or similar anime they don’t hold the license for either. I understand that competition is good for the consumer but it doesn’t help when the competition for anime simulcasting is garbage. What Funimation is good for is dubbing anime in English, not simulcasting. I wish they would put all their attention into dubbing and drop simulcasting from their business.

I got all excited to see Barakamon was coming to CR but then I saw it's not available in North America. Why must you dash my hopes so?

Yamishibai had some good stories so I'm interested in the second season.

Barakamon is pretty hype too for me at least because I'm getting Usagi Drop vibes from it. Too bad its not for the US

Funimation keeps licensing the series for all the Americas, but just stream to North America. If they don't intent to stream the series to other countries on the American Continent, why do they make this? It is so frustrating.
