Ugh it was so bad I can't remember the name, my friend made me watch it with her straight in one night..idk it had this guy with black hair and a black trench, red eyes, and a sword? Then there was another dude with white hair and wore squall's clothes, and then there was his bff who was just DUMB and had brown hair and tied his stupid jacket around his waist and became a drug addict or something i think he died and i was happy. Then there was this blonde kid who wore an irish kilt? Idk he was dumb too, actually, they were all dumb. And it took place in this like dirty city with genetic soliders? Idk the whole genetic soliders got me thinkin of final fantasy 7// then they did this dumb drug that made them dumb and acted like they were on bathsalts. I DONT KNOW I JUST HATED IT ;;

then vampire knight and highschool of the dead;;oh my jesus that is what those shows need

Rather than hating just the second part of the story like most people, I think SAO started going way downhill after Kirito and Asuna got together. The show was so perfectly paced up till that point then it just came to a screeching halt.

All of the Negima adaptions. Negima became such an amazing Action manga after the first 100 chapters but the anime adaptions insisted on showing only the harem stuff. I would kill to see Negi vs. Rakan animated.

Shin Sekai Yori, all of a sudden on episode 8 there was a random 2 year timeskip in which everyone turned homosexual. There were two kissing and touching scenes so randomly.

Elfen Lied, so over-hyped

Elfen Lied is pretty awful. I don't get the reason it gets any praise to be honest, it's just a pointlessly edgy gory, laughable mess.

Pupa, hands down. I wasted my time watching it. The concept seemed so interesting and I'm sure that they could've expanded on it.

Instead of giving us a remake of Soul eater (because the anime had a filler ending) they gave us this Piece of crap .

I remember their was this one anime I tried to watch on netflix called Trinty Blood. It was REALLY BAD! It was like a combo of Hellsing, Trigun, and Vampire Hunter D; as cool as that sounds, it was bad. I got I think to the 13th episode before I dropped it; I think past the one with the vampire fairy's and shtuff. There was hardly any story flow that formed and some stuff never really got explained; like how the hell did the vampires turn their bodies into blades?

The only somewhat good episode was the one were it was about the vampire king dude who seemed evil, but really was just mad that his wife who tried to help humans and cared for them was kill by the villagers.

The art style was...... eh. A lot of people costumes were kinda messy and fussy. It reminded me of a stereo-typical JRPG. I know the original creator died before he could finish it, but It was just bad.

Muv-Luv Total Eclipse.

I went into it completely unfamiliar with the source material and the first 2-3 episodes were pure, distilled awesomeness that just slammed into the densest wall of suck ever at a speed of 300 million m/s.

Open letter to anyone who feels the same way as the above guy: Read the Muv-Luv visual novels.

It is a 3 part trilogy, in the order: Extra, Unlimited, and Alternative.

Extra is pretty skippable. If you must, force yourself through one of the routes to get a general idea of the 'normal' world. Unlimited can be considered skippable, however I would STRONGLY recommend reading at least one of the routes. Alternative is where it is all at though. Those feels of pure distilled awesomeness come from Alternative. The guy who wrote Alternative wrote those few episodes. That feeling, that tone, that ljahdakudghakuyfgaYES? It's alternative. However, Unlimited provides a lot of context for Alternative, which is why I advised against skipping it.

Muv-Luv Alternative is generally considered one of the greatest visual novels of all time, so it is well worth a read. Though because of a CERTAIN PARTICULAR SCENE THAT MAY OR MAY NOT HAVE TRAUMATISED ME try to get the version with gore reduction (its literally just for that one scene but seriously do it ._.).

tl;dr read good visual novels not terrible adaptations (examples: little busters, muv luv (unfair, muv luv anime was adapted from a light novel spinoff), fate/stay night)

________

Back on track: Someone already mentioned sword art online, so damn. Hmm... Kill la Kill. I can measure the number of minutes I lasted on one hand. The art style was dated and was genuinely a terrible artistic choice, the action was maximum low budget and not even impressive to watch, and the lack of any semblance of direction made me drop it like its hot. (snoopdoggdance.gif) For a series that got so much hype I cant even comprehend where it came from; unlike sword art online, which in the first half at least had a good premise behind it, and a somewhat understandable setting for the target audience (also had Yuki Kajiura doing the OST and that was actually the reason I watched it lol)

Soul Eater.
It was so good throughout the series, but the ending made me hate the whole show.

I've never seen it, but the way you described it is probably one of the best things I've ever read.

I'll have to say Death Note so far. I started watching yesterday after knowing about it forever and then having it recommended. It's just not doing anything for me. I'll finish it today because I want to see how it plays through, but it's nothing amaze or anything.

Also (more like, ofc), the second half of SAO. I would have been extremely pleased with the first season ending after the Aincrad arc. The second half of that show makes me just NOPE the new season.

It's worth watching the first episodes if you like fast paced mech action type stuff but after that it turns into the dating sim it's based on. It wasn't really the genre switch that made it bad, just the execution of it due to a new director and a blown budget.

As for Death Note and SAO, I agree. I lost interest in DN about halfway through and the second half of SAO seemed almost.....unnecessary....for lack of a better word. I'll still likely watch the new season though.

Really? I got the impression that the source material was more akin to the later parts of the anime. I'll look into, No censoring for me though, I'll take my traumatizing moments as intended.....
