Every time I try to watch a video there is no audio every time a character is talking but I can hear everything else just fine. I didn't have this problem till today. I'm streaming via wifi, using ipad3, iOS version is 7.1.2, and the crunchyroll app version is the latest version

Are you having this problem with every video, or just certain episodes?

I don't expect most videos are going to have 5.1 audio, but you might want to check your audio settings, and make sure that volume is leveled across left and right channels.

I'm having this problem with all videos and I'm pretty sure the only audio settings on an iPad is to adjust the volume level

Televised anime in Japan is almost exclusively produced in stereo.

Do you mean all videos regardless of service (i.e. also on YouTube, etc.)?

The iPad also has an equalizer, but unless they've changed it since iOS 6, it should only have presets. Also, I believe it only affects audio played via the music app.

There are third party equalizer apps that affect more, and have more detailed settings, however. If you have one of those, it would be possible to substantially affect the audio of spoken word without greatly affecting music or sound effects. Back in the analog days, "voice remover" devices were essentially a notch filter of this type.

I'm also having this problem with the youtube app and it looks like the equalizer only works with music played with iTunes.
