I can't say that I am so mentally unstable that anything I watch would change my life in any way. If you have a life changing moment from a TV show, thats not a factual documentary that makes you go out and do something, you need help.

Clannad After Story and Anohana changed my life lol My friends thought it would be funny to throw me into the deep end from the start. Hate them and love them for it.

Bleach I would say only because it was what made me go "oh this kinda thing is cool"

i'm not sure which ones have been too influential past middle school though. hmm. Nodame Cantabile maybe? That was when I finally found a romance that I was like "hell yes!!!!!!!!!!! i'm going to see every iteration of this i possibly can!"

and then hana kimi (which i read the manga and watched the drama of... i don't actually think it has an anime?) where i was like "hey man screw the way this story turned out (i didn't like the main guy at all. much preferred the comic relief character) i want to make my own story!!!!"

since then? not sure! it's been a while actually... i mean nothing's made me go nutz or inspired me to write my own stuff since then.

^^ hahahahahah.

If I said that I found it in music or poetry or literature, would that change your mind?
IMHO, anything that makes you challenge who you are and the way you see things is valid, whatever the source may be.
But I can't remember the last time I fell in love with an anime/manga/LN - but HxH has been seriously gripping for me.

Shin Sekai Yori - "From The New World"

All around eye-opening show to me. The plot was fantastic and the final few episodes were really eye-opening on topics like racism and segregation as a whole. Also, the show sparked a change in physiological behavior in me which lead to me becoming interested in psychology and other peculiar studies.

Whisper of the Heart--Made me inspired.
Shadow Star Narutaru--Showed me the dark side of life.
Shiki--Showed me how disgusting and desperate humanity can get if we become part of the food chain.
Attack on Titan--Made me question if I'd fight in order to protect where I live or flee for my own safety.
Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Momonoke--I don't know.
Shin Sekai Yori--The parallels between how the people with Power treated the "Monster Rats" and how people with power treat people without it--whether their power is inherit or artificial.

For me it was Gunbuster, which i saw in either 1991 or 1992, was probably 12 years old.
It wasn't my first anime, but it was the anime that made me fall in love with anime. Its hard to put into words how much I love this anime.

I hope everyone sees this Gem, Its Gainax 2nd animation, right after The Wings of Honneamise, and then Nadia, NGE ,TTGL etc.

Noriko Takaya from Gunbuster, who may have been one of the first true examples of a female hot blooded protagonist in giant robot history, and still remains one of the best. How hot blooded is she? Let's just say she's got a Spear Counterpart in none other than Simon The Digger!

AnoHana made me consider how people change as they grow.
TTGL taught me to never give into the social norm.
Psycho Pass showed me that good intentions don't always have good results.
Major taught me what it means to truly love what you do and push through rough times.
Kokoro Connect is going to be a timeless show to me for what it means to be in someone elses shoes.
Bokura ga Ita made me realize issues vary at all levels in society.

Anime in general has taught me countless things. From being nice, social, out going and being yourself to not being close minded. No more taking crap from people, living out your dreams fully. The beauty in nature and growth. How talent can be achieved through hard work. Anime has saved and changed my life in many ways.
