So, you may have once heard someone's bad breath being compared to a dragons. This makes me think. Mainly...

Wouldn't a dragon's mouth actually be really clean? I mean, halitosis or bad breath is caused by germs. But breathing fire would surely kill any germs infesting your mouth.

What do you think?

I'm pretty sure burned bad breath germs smell equally as bad as, or worse than, normal bad breath germs.

...What? Fire kills bacteria, aka germs. It kills them. It doesn't burn them, it kills them. Meaning no more germs.

Seriously. What.

So, having dead germs in your mouth wouldn't smell? (I seriously do not know)

No. Since the fire basically consumes them all. Nothing left.

It's alright. Guess I shouldn't assume everyone knows that. Just always thought of it as common sense.

Depends on the fantasy but if the dragons fire is outside the mouth I would think bad breath, if it's inside, I don't know.

But what if the germs are protected by dragon's saliva or mucus and then the mouth drys up after the fire breath?

They burn, die, explode, and their body parts are reintegrated into other bacteria in the mouth. And the cycle repeats. Judging by the amounts it probably take to feed a multi-ton beast (Which is likely what the fire is being used to, you know, burn anyway), it's not going to take very long for more bacteria to enter the mouth.

As in, it would continue to smell like shit regardless.

Wasn't really thinking when I posted that. Am kind of high tonight.
