I thought i would ask what are some JRPG'S that people have been playing at all that they could recommend.
I've played Atelier Meruru and Totori and also the hyper dimension series and Tales series on the PS3 and also Persona 4 Golden. I've also been looking at mind zero on the PS Vita and wondering if anyone has played it and what they thought about it.

If you enjoyed Persona 4 Golden, I would also highly recommend Persona 3 Portable or Persona 3 FES. I would also highly recommend the Final Fantasy X-X2 HD remake as well, regardless of whether you're a Final Fantasy fan or not.

I have yet to play Mind Zero, so I can't offer much of an informed opinion on that game at this time.

Conception II: Children Of The Seven Stars was decent, wasn't fastest or most exciting game but it was still fun. I highly Recommend Final Fantasy VII and VIII too but those get pretty slow/boring at times so they're not for everyone. Also Dangan Ronpa Trigger Happy Havoc (not totally a jrpg but it's still good) is great and anyone with a vita should pick it up.

For PS3: Eternal Sonata, Time and Eternity, Resonance of Fate, Star Ocean The Last Hope International, Valkyria Chronicles, Ni no Kuni.

For Vita: Can't recommend because I haven't played any Vita JRPG's yet.

Persona 3 FES (PS2 Classic)
Persona 4 Golden or the PS2 original
Ni No Kuni
Witch and the hundred knight
Mugen Souls and Mugen Souls Z
Dragons Dogma is kind of a JRPG
Don't get WKC2 the servers are all shut down
Look forward to natural doctrine it looks promising
Tales of Graces F
Tales of Xillia 1 & 2
Conception 2
Kingdom hearts 1.5, 2.5 releases Dec 9th
FFX/X2 if you're big on the newer FF games although I highly HIGHLY recommend playing 5-9 instead as 10-13 aren't nearly as good
Star Ocean Last Hope International is a great JRPG for newcomers
Demons Souls was a fantastic Action JRPG

There's not as much as there was on the PS2 but there's definitely some solid games out there although I really don't recommend one game called time and eternity as it had the worst voice acting/art and gameplay I exprienced but if you try any of those games you'll find yourself hard to be disappointed

This is not entirely true. SMT games are not glorified high school dating sims, like Persona.

Not knowing what all systems you have makes it hard to suggest anything that hasn't already been said.

Anything by Altus. I'm personally fond of Etrain Odyssey, it's a classic dungeon crawler (3DS).

Everything this guys said. Except his Final Fantasy taste are lacking HUEHUEHUEHUE ;] Play X|X-2 HD as its easier to get into and pretty straight forward gameplay wise. Play FF 13. Avoid its sequels. Play VI and VII before VIII :]

Valkyria Chronicles is a game that no one should miss! So get it ASAP.

I won't deny accessibility and its easier to understand the older Final Fantasies can be very confusing and you might need at bare minimum a map with the key areas marked for you on some of them. FX/X-2 Came out to a newer generation and was nerfed down on the difficulty and a smidge more linear so you aren't accidentally blundering into rough spots, also if you can in lieu of what most gamers say TRY XII it isn't "bad" however I don't know if you will like XIII its very hit and miss from person to person I played them because I'm a staunch FF fan and will play anything with the label on it (sad really) but they were right as well about playing the classics in order 6, 7, 8 & 9 can be found on disc at reasonable prices the most expensive being 7 which can hit up to 130$ but I got mine for 70$ then theres digital on PSN 10$ also IV as well as 3 can be found on the handhelds if you have it I might recommend getting one of them 3DS/Vita as those are getting serious JRPG love from HIGHLY accessible and very user friendly games like conception 2 and the likes.

It looks like my favorites have already been mentioned, Persona 3, Tales of Xillia, Eternal Sonata, etc... Most of these are PS 3 games, though there is a version of Persona 3, Persona PSP, that you can play on the Vita.

I'm currently doing a second run through Atelier Totori Plus on the Vita and I'm enjoying the game a lot. It may be the only JRPG that I've gone back to play a second time. The game has more of a focus on crafting then leveling, though leveling is important as well. It also is timed, with every action taking a certain amount of time and you only have 6 years to complete the game. This was my first game in the Atelier series and I'll likely check out some more of them.

Xenoblade Chronicles. It's my favourite game of all time. It plays like a fluid version of World of Warcraft, and has a fantastically original setting and aesthetic. The massive open areas are a joy to behold, not only because they look pretty, but also because of that wonderful open-world feeling of "that place over there? You can go there". It might be a bit dear to pick up by now, given that nobody bought it and it's thus rarer than hen's teeth, but it's worth every single penny.
