Just curious as to whether you guys prefer Toradora! over Golden Time, or vice versa.

Idk personally I liked Toradora! more than Golden Time. In fact I've already dropped GT.

But I dropped it at Ep 11, is it worth sticking around?

Anyways, thoughts please!

Why did you have to remind me of Golden time I still haven't recovered from it.
And no, it just keeps getting worse each episode, into one of the worst ending ive seen in anime so far, so if you didn't find it interesting after 11, I doubt you'll like the rest.
Toradora is just slightly better though, but i sure as hell prefer it over GT.
GT is one of those few anime i actually regret watching

if I had to go with one, I guess... Toradora.

dropped Golden Time after 6 episodes.. would have been earlier, but there was 1 episode in the bunch that sparked my interest, so I continued watching until I eventually got sick of it.

Toradora, I just stopped watching around episode 13. no reason in particular, I just didn't feel like watching the rest of it, so I haven't finished it.

Golden Time really did break my heart since it went from a great start to mediocrity. It was actually frustrating to see some of the events and the relationship was bullshit. Toradora was a bit better so i guess i'll say that.

Ignoring the comments of haters,
Toradora is a typical (or rather, THE) boy-meets-girl kind of high school romance.
Golden Time is more mature romance with a bit more drama.

They're both by the same author,
so it really boils down to what your tastes are.

Oh, wow, after reading this thread, I guess it's time to drop everything and go watch Golden Time, 'cause I adore Toradora. You might even say I adora it.

I enjoyed Golden Time a lot, but I'm actually going to go with Toradora. It's kind of strange, really. I sincerely admired Golden Time for being brave enough for going with a concept that didn't revolve around a tsundere girlfriend, and going with kids who weren't in highschool, yet I like Toradora more despite Taiga being a tsundere in highschool.

A lot of it comes down to execution. Taiga was the only tsundere who didn't severely piss me off, and while Koko wasn't as annoying to me as some other people found her, Banri and his breakdown's and ghost dilemma's really annoyed me. I mean, I get that he wasn't in control of it, but boy was it annoying to see his two conflicting sides constantly ruin everything as he turned into a whinny emotional wreck.

As far as endings went, both felt a bit forced, but I won't ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen them. Both shows appealed to me for different reasons. As for Golden Time, if you dropped it after 11 episodes, I wouldn't say you should pick it back up since you seem to have spent more than enough time with it to form your own opinion on whether it's for you.

Toradora. Watching the relationships in Golden Time was simply painful. Stopped at ep 14. Haven't removed it from my queue yet though...

Toradora! is definitely better though I must say I do like the main love interest more in Golden Time. Looks and personality. That being said the MC was waaaay better in Toradora.

I thought Golden Time started great and I thought it ended well, too... if I disregard how some things were handled in the end. I do think it gets better in the second half, but if you're not too keen on it at 11 episodes then it probably isn't the anime for you.

I probably prefer Toradora. Sure, it was a predictable romance/comedy, but i prefer it simply because I like the characters more. I probably respect Golden Time more, though, for not being your typical, silly, ridiculous romance anime, with a main character that is practically a magnet for the opposite sex, and it doesn't take the entire series to clear up any misunderstandings. The characters in it also felt more real than other anime in its genre, and that's probably because it's not set in a high school like so many others, like it. And Jesus Christ! They actually solve their issues like normal people! I do have my problems with the ending of Golden Time, but for the most part it was a good anime.

You know, in hindsight all this probably weighs in Golden Time's favour, but still, I prefer Toradora.
