Greetings everyone,
with the CR app no longer requiring a gold subscription I gave it a go - and quickly ran into an annoyance that may not be obvious to people in the US or outside my consumer profile.

First some background info:
I'm from Germany but I like to watch shows on CR with english subs where available, as such I have my preferred subtitle language set to english.

There is no issue with shows available in Germany that are also available in the US or other english speaking territories - so most of the shows available to me, really.

Now the problem:
Shows not available in english speaking territories and thus without english subs.

I've been watching No-Rin on my Xbox and, as my preferred language is not available for that title, apparenly the app then switches to the first language available. In this case french.

Since the only way I've found to change the subtitle language the app uses is to change my preferences on the website this led to a somewhat awkward process. If I happen to want to watch a title without english subtitles on my Xbox I would then turn my PC on anyway to change subtitles to german, watch what I wanted to watch and then once again using my PC switch the language back to english for shows like Naruto that have english subs available.

As a workaround I'll refrain from watching single episodes of shows without english subtitles for now and marathon them when they have finished airing.
With your ongoing effort to get shows even when they are not available in the US I feel like I'm doing you a disservice by not watching the ones I'm interested in until they finish simulcasting.

This, finally, brings us to my suggestion/feature request:
Please give us a way to switch subtitle language from within the Xbox app
or failing that
Give us a way to set up a fallback language in the site preferences if the preferred language we chose is not available.

I was a bit confused when reading your post, but I believe one of those "english"s should have been a "german."

Indeed, thanks for catching that.
I've rephrased my post so often before committing it that english and german started to look the same towards the end. Formulating the post in german in my head while typing it out in english probably didn't help my case either.
I hope it makes more sense now.

It's like giving people directions. "Turn left here. No not that way." "You said left?" "Well the other left obviously, why does nobody understand simple directions? It was perfectly clear which way I meant!"
