I used to be one indeed.. I would act like I could see things that weren't there, pretended that my right hand was being corrupted by a disease, and dreamt about ninja cats fighting my family and harassed pillows to get information out of them. MWUHAHAHAH!

Does 'chuuni' even have the same context without the 'byou'? Pretty sure sure 'chuuni' by itself just means middle-2 aka 8th grader rather than middle-2 disease. I'm pretty sure most of us were 8th graders at some point in time. I wonder if the Japanese ever say it that way as a shorthand, or if its just us shortening it at random without care for meaning. Kind of like ordering a latte in an Italian coffee shop will get you a milk, because they don't use the same contextual shortenings that we do as we never use the word latte outside of ordering a cafe latte at a coffee shop. I suppose its possible but I wonder. Hmm...

I have a diary where I reinvented the calendar with the day as 32 hours long because the sun was merely an illusion sent by the Enemy of Truth to distort mankind's perceptions and smother us in falsehoods. I also came up with a new way of writing because I wanted to conceal my awareness of its existance from the Enemy, as otherwise it would come to brainwash me into becoming its slave like everyone else. I came up with gods, mythology, folklore, and a rewritten version of history in that diary, but never once reported on what I had actually done during that day.

Due to the nature of the situation, I had to keep it secret from everyone so never did any of the typical chuunibyou activities (which would have made it too obvious). After all, everyone other than me was a slave (and thus a spy) of the Enemy.

I was that kid in school who was embarrassed for the kids who would start dressing a certain way or listening to music to fit in or stand out, so I certainly didn't do things like this. Ended up being kind of a social outcast for much of middle and high school, but definitely not like this.

I love Mori Summer, though.

I wish i could of had Chuuni delusions in 8th grade, i was too busy doing other stupid stuff like ensuring i was going to have a heart attack when i grow up by chest boxing friends. And showing all my friends, not even all my friends the whole school, a picture of my best friend undressing on my out of service ~2007 flip phone and lying about sleeping with her.
i do regret those days and wish they would leave my memory, i dont want to be a stupid person like i was in those days.

Maybe i did have chuuni sickness but it wasnt the "cool" evil eye type

I may or may not have more than actively pretened to be in a Waterbender from Avatar: The Last Airbender. Plausible deniability and what have you <.< ... >.> yeah. I was a chuuni, but not as hard core as what is shown in Love, Chuunibuyo and other Delusions.

Chuunibyou, or "Chuuni" for short, is Middle school 2nd year syndrome.

There are three main types of Chuunibyou:

DQN-Type Chuunibyou: You either act antisocial, or tell story of you being antisocial, Even if you're not antisocial.

Subculture-Type Chuunibyo: You pretend to like minor trends just to be different and "Cool".

Evil Eye-Type Chuunibyo: You kind of over-exaggerate thing as if something bad were to happen if that thing was done... In case you don't get it, here is an example: "Don't take that bandana off my left wrist. It's sealing an evil spirit inside me and if you take it off I may go berserk."
"Dude, calm down. You just have chuunibyou."

(Just for the people who don't already know)

I acted like a berserker knight with a stick the size of a bastard sword and drove everyone away who came onto this huge field behind the house where I lived when I was a kid. Would always come home with some kind of scar but those were probably the best and funnest days of my life.

All these comments saying that people cringed when they watched Chuunibyou because it reminded them of themselves; didn't you enjoy who you used to be? Sure you wouldn't be caught dead acting like that now, but it's a bit silly and futile to deny the fun you've had in the past.
