Personally for me it would be a tie between Final Fantasy XIII and Thief. The former suffered from a lot of hype, being given a Final Fantasy label while stripping away most of what makes Final Fantasy a great series. The latter was more of personal expectations issue.

Titanfall.

Not much to it. Great gameplay, fast matches, easy to get kills every now and then to call in your titan. It plays very similar to Call of Duty, but the game doesn't have the much content. Also the way the campaign is structured is stupid. They would have been better off not investing into a campaign at all if its just a multiplayer game with radio dialogue. Also theres not insenstive to keep playing after you've unlocked everything.

The game isn't bad, I just regret spending 60$ for a game thats pretty much like Call of Duty.

Titanfall and Watch Dogs easily top the list in terms of most recent games.

While I love both to death I did not board the hype train because I knew they wouldn't be as huge as everyone though. I got Titanfall because I love shooters and mechs and I love Watch Dogs because I live in Chicago and, as my friend describes it as, it's a sandbox filled with ants and you're the kid with the giant magnifying glass. It's fun to just screw around with the people plus, while most don't, I enjoy the multiplayer.

They haven't offered to much to the genres HOWEVER I think Titanfall has evolutionized the FPS genre. BTW to the people saying it plays like CoD, have you actually tried wall-running or did you just use the jump pack to get a boost when running like most do?

Watch Dogs. God of War. (all of them). FF8, FF10, FF13. ESO. Every single 'WoW killer' ever.

Watch Dogs. Bless that I didn't buy it and watched some walkthroughs to see if it was good.

Final Fantasy 7

It was a great game, though. Guess it didn't meet my expectations after playing 6.

Every CoD game after MW2
Every DBZ game after the PS2-era
GTA V
And every NBA Live and Madden game EA tried to give it hype, but I ain't falling for it after switching to NBA 2k

Titanfall felt stale after a few days. Battlefield 4 was a buggy mess. Watch_ Dogs was fun, but underwhelming compared to how it was advertised. And I hope ESO plays better on consoles than it did on PC, cause ESO was pretty subpar. Also Call of Duty, while it has become a little less disappointing, it still is pretty over-hyped.

But biggest disappointment to me although it was a fantastic game and one of my all time favorite games was.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
It had a fantastic feel to it, gameplay wise, and it was pretty, but honestly it was pretty barren for an Elder Scrolls game.
