I recently rebought a used PSP. My previous one was stolen a few years ago at school. Now that I have a brand "new" PSP, my favorite games on it are as following

Metal Slug Anthology (yeah I love playing Metal Slug one to six extensively). The only downside to Metal Slug Anthology (At least the PSP version) is the atrocious loading times. The only Metal Slug game I've beaten on one-life (without dying at all) is the original Metal Slug. I'm still trying to beat the other ones on one life.

Gradius Collection. Gradius 3, the arcade version, is hard as hell, but I still like it. I'm stuck on level 3. I got to level 8 on my save files for my previous PSP (which got stolen at school). The only downside to this game is that it lacks in any multiplayer co op.

Grand Theft Auto Vice City Stories. Extremely lulzy to enter in the cheat codes that give you access to just about any weapon in the game to mess around with the police. I play the game mostly for the crazy things you can do with the cheats rather than the single player campaign (which I finished on my previous psp's memory stick that got stolen along with the PSP system).

Castlevania The Dracula X Chronicles. A pretty tough game. I have never gotten past the fifth level of the game, but I will when I have time.

Sega Genesis Collection. While I think Sonic the Hedgehog is overrated, it is still fun to play. Some of the other games on the collection are pretty enjoyable too like Shinobi and Vectorman.

Please note that I hardily play my DS anymore, but my favorite games for the system are...

Zelda the Phantom Hour Glass and Spirit Tracks. Pretty fun game, even though it is rather short and easy.

Super Mario 64 DS. Another pretty easy and short game, but it was pretty fun. I was quite impressed by the 3D graphics for the game.

Mario Kart DS. Another game that showcases the DS's 3d capabilities QUITE well, and it is also pretty fun. It came with the red DS I bought back in Christmas of 2005.

New Super Mario Bros...yet another pretty fun and easy game. I beat it within four hours of getting it, but I've replayed it many times.

I have a gameboy advance SP, and my favorite games for GBA are...

Super Mario Advance 1 through 4...I own all of them except for the first Super Mario Advance, which was a port of Super Mario Bros 2 I believe. I've played Super Mario Bros 2 on an emulator, though.

Super Ghouls n Ghosts. A pretty fun game. I think the difficulty of the game is WAY overrated. It can be challenging at times, but it is NOWHERE near the hardest game I've ever played. Maybe it is was because I've beaten it countless times, but I can think of many games that are WAY harder than it. Gradius 3, Dodonpachi, Metal Slug 3 (beating it without using any continues at least) and Contra 3.

Megaman Zero 2. I only own MMZ 2, but I've played the other MMZ on emulators.

Megaman and Bass. Again, the difficulty is way overrated, but it was somewhat challenging to beat the first time around.

There are a few others I can't remember right now, but those are the few that I can think of right off the bat.

As for gameboy color, the only game worth playing on it was Pokemon. And Super Mario Bros Deluxe and Wario Land 3. All of the other GBC games I've played were utterly forgettable.

Hmm, favorite portable game... Well it is a PSP game no doubt. Like the DS and all but I used my PSP more often. Dragon Ball Z Shin Budokai I would have to say. Dissidia was good but it wasn't my favorite.

Are they copies you paid for or copies you downloaded for free online? How about a list that's no more than twenty games?

They are all legitimate copies I either purchased or was gifted. I am one who doesn't believe in or care for emulators and ROMs unless they are offered through a legal means, such as the Virtual Console service from Nintendo for example. As both a gamer and a collector for the better part of the past 20 years though, and coupled with the fact that I've never traded or sold a game in my life, it's allowed me to obtain a fairly good size collection. I recently obtained my 900th video game actually. Got a long way to go to finish my collection, but I'm proud of it.

But anyways, a top twenty list I can do. I'll post it later today or tomorrow. Prepare to read! Lol.

In no particular order:
Brave Story: A New Traveler - I always thought this game looked beautiful for a PSP game.
Kenka Bancho Badass Rumble - As a huge fan of Yakuza, this is the closest I get to a portable Yakuza game that I can fully understand.
Gurumin A Monstrous Adventure
Half Minute Hero - levels may only be half a minute long but I spent hours on this.
Metal Gear Ac!d 2
Steambot Chronicles Battle Tournament
Dead or Alive Paradise
Fate Unlimited Codes - great for when you get tired of Tekken or Blazblue.

Revenant Wings Final Fantasy XII - sequel to my most favorite RPG of all time. Pretty good RTS despite the small screen.
The Legend of Zelda: The Phantom Hourglass
New Super Mario Bros.
Brain Age - played it religiously until the last days of my DS.
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword - a pretty good effort to bring Hayabusa to the DS.

GBA (No longer have it but these were my favorites):
Pokemon Ruby Version
Final Fantasy IV Advance
Castlevania Aria of Sorrow

For now, Gravity Rush & Muramasa Rebirth.

I know I had said my list would be ready in a day or two, but I decided to take an extra day to reflect on my choices. I also decided to write a little blurb about each game, which also doubles as to why it is one of my top 20 favorite portable games of all time. Now, I will admit, the mass amount of my list consists of games offered on Nintendo systems, but that being said, I have tried and played a number of games on other systems like the PSP and PS Vita. Quite frankly though, most of those games have never really been able to grab my attention.

One note about my list, only games which were originally created for portable consoles are included, so you won't see the likes of shrunken down re-releases of home console games, like how NES games are offered through the Virtual Console service on the Nintendo 3DS. However, ports of home console games that were created specifically for a portable console are eligible.

Also, due to the length of my post, I've decided to post the list itself as a spoiler item, so open at your own risk.

And now, I present to you, my Top 20 Portable Video Games of All-Time List.

I have played many portable games over the years, starting back at Pokemon RBY, but the vast majority of my favorite games are on the 3DS. They just keep on making my favorite franchises even better.

10. Puzzle Quest - Great puzzle game!
9. Color Cross - Great spin on Picross!
8. Mario Kart 7 - I'm not a huge fan of Mario Kart, but this game is great. Have dumped many hours into it even in single player.
7. Rune Factory 4 - First Rune Factory I have played, and gotta say I love it! I'm a big fan of Harvest Moon games, and this expands a lot on the usual gimmick.
6. Pokemon - I love all of the Pokemon games! I have fond memories of every generation of Pokemon, so it's hard for me to pick just one.
5. Harvest Moon: A New Beginning - Best Harvest Moon yet! 2nd most played game on my 3DS.
4. Animal Crossing: New Leaf - Best Animal Crossing yet! 1st most played game on my 3DS.
3. Picross 3D - My favorite puzzle game of all time. I've beaten it several times, and even entered into some of the competitions (and actually won one, making one of my puzzles distributed nation-wide by wifi). It's a great spin on the traditional Picross, and I really hope that they will make a sequel to it one day!
2. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D - OoT is in my top 3 favorite games of all time. I have fond memories of it from my childhood. It's hard for me to put the portable version of this game on this list, though, because it is a remake. They don't add anything new to it other than graphics, really. But really, I played this game so much, and beat it on the 3DS a few times (when I was never able to beat it on the N64 as a child). So it's hard for me to not add it on this list. I think it's earned it, since really, it is better than the original. Better graphics, better controls... Wonderful game overall, but since it is a remake of a console game, I'm not giving it the #1 spot.
1. Final Fantasy Theaterythm - 3rd most played game on the 3DS, but played it the most frequently and long-term of any game. I usually get bored of playing games after 60 hours or so, and usually I don't pick them back up again for years. Theaterythm is the exception. Since it has come out, I've gone on several binges of playing this game (and it's only been a couple of years). Out of any game I've ever played, I think this has the most replay value for me, and that's why it is in the #1 spot. Can't wait for the sequel to come out in a couple of months! ♥
