Jin carefully cleaned the hares that his traps had caught, pausing periodically to look down at Lenora. He smiles and slit the bellies of the hares and scooped out their guts, after she had finished doing her laundry was about the time he'd finished cleaning their dinner. He placed the hares in his pack and began to climb down the tree, doing some sort of acrobatic maneuver each time he was able to. He landed at the base of the tree and began to walk back to the shack. He extinguished the outside torch and opened the door, walked inside and closed it, placing the long piece of wood that acted like a lock. He turned and smiles at Lenora and retrieves the hares from his pack and places them on the table. He places his pack down and pulls his tanto out and begins to skin them.

"I hope you're in the mood for rabbit." He says. "They're unusually fat here, otherwise I'd make a stew out of them."

He pulls the skins off them and smiles to himself.

"Looks like these rabbits are going to be really late to the tea party." He says, joking.

(Yeah, it doesn't matter. But then again friends aren't as important when you start to get older, because you've got other things to worry about like bills, working, and your family. I haven't gotten to the family part yet, and I don't plan on it for a while, lol. I quit doing social media a nearly a year ago, deleted my instagram, facebook, twitter, and vine. You go to conventions? I've wanted to, but I probably wouldn't fit in. XD)

Thoughts;
...

[ Oh, god, the day I have to start worrying about those things is the day I lose a social life. I wish it were possible to skip to a time when I have a stable job and family /laughs/
And no, I haven't been to a con yet. A group of friends wanted to go to AnimNext back in June, but then we realized it was on the same weekend as SATs. And, aw, don't say that! There's probably something for everybody at cons c:
I probably have an addiction with twitter, and other than Facebook, I could survive without the other sites/apps. What made you quit, if you don't mind me asking? ]

The Alice in Wonderland reference delighted Lenora, but she couldn't place her finger on the reason why. She suddenly found herself saying, "I used to read that story to my brothers all the time." Brothers? Lenora closed her eyes. The phantom-feeling of sitting at a bedside and tucking two young boys into their beds enveloped Lenora; she could feel the sensations but she couldn't put an image with the senses. Did she have family? Were they looking for here right now?
Clearing her thoughts with a sigh and shaking her head, Lenora looked back up to Jin and smiled reassuringly. "I'm not partial to any kind of food at this point. You caught these yourself? They look delectable."

Jin smiles to himself and looks over his shoulder.

"Did you? I don't remember if I have or had any family, honestly. Maybe something will trigger it eventually, but so far I've just been surviving and making those." He says, raising his knife to point at a small collection of wood carvings. "I just carve things that come into my mind, not sure if they're original or not, but they keep me from losing my mind among with my memories. That's why I'm glad to have some company now."

He places the skins away from the carcass and raises his knife and brings it down on the head of the rabbit, swiftly cutting it off. He does it to the other three and then begins to separate meat from bone, and drops the meat into the kettle, making a "sploosh" sound.

"Yeah, I caught them. I have a couple traps out there." He points out the window with his knife. "I usually catch a lot of small animals, like rabbits, squirrels and such. But for larger game I use that bow that was, I guess, left here." He says, gesturing his head to the longbow that lays upright in a corner by the door.

(Lmao, I wish that too. But then again, you'd miss all the first time experiences and the love and stuff when you get your first really serious gf/bf and your first child, and that good stuff. I dropped them because they were a waste of time, it was (to me) a place for validation. You got guys over here taking shirtless pics when they weigh 120lbs and are scrawnier than a 10 year old boy, and you got the chicks over here posting selfies left and right for desperate guys who shower them in compliments and who in turn attack you if you disagree with them. I don't have time for that when I could be spending that time improving myself, training and practicing guitar. Eventually I got tired of it and deleted all my photos, changed the name, changed my password to something I'd never remember and left it. The only reason I'd go back is to ask out this girl who was really into me when I was in high school, and that's because I don't see her around town much but then again I'd much rather ask her out in person. As for twitter, Instagram, and vine it's the same thing. I see, The closest place for me to go to a con would be Austin, if they had them there and if not, Dallas. Nah, I doubt they have stuff for guys who like to box and do martial arts. I don't own any anime stuff, no t-shirts, no figurines, I don't even wear t-shirts, my room is covered in Texas A&M flags and video game posters, got my boxing gloves on display and stuff lol. I'd probably out dress everyone there, just because that's the stuff I like to wear. I'd go just for the experience, but I'd probably go for the girls, and that's if there's any attractive ones. XD)

Lenora admired the wood carvings and went over to the collection to examine them closer while Jin prepared the rabbits. "It must have been so lonely for you," Lenora said. "I'm glad that you're glad to have someone to talk to, at least." She picked up a few wooden carvings and turned them over to see the details, before putting them down and joining Jin by the fire.
"I'm sorry, I should've asked if you needed help," she furrowed her brow and frowned. "I should come with you next time to set up traps, that way I could see how it's done. I have a vague recollection of reading a survival guide some time ago, so I could be of service?" She looked at the rabbit furs tossed to the side and back at the boiling pieces of meat. "I bet I could even learn how to skin and gut animals," Lenora added helpfully, then her eyes followed Jin's gesture to the longbow propped against the wall. "And maybe learn how to hunt?" Lenora didn't want to completely rely on a person, it would be inconvenient for both of them. Lenora would feel like she would be too much of a burden on Jin, and she wouldn't be able to learn how to fend for herself; even if she had read about how to survive in guides, Lenora never actually applied that knowledge to use.

"It was alright, I kept myself busy a lot of the time, so the time passed quickly. But it's always good to have someone to talk to." He says.

He shrugs at her asking for teaching, finishes what he was doing and throws the rest of the meat in the kettle, where the stew has began to boil. He goes to the small pantry and grabs some carrots and celery and chops them up and tosses them in the stew. He wipes the tanto off on a piece of cloth and puts it back in it's sheathe.

"I don't mind. I can show you how to set traps and clean, as long as you don't scare the animals we are hunting off, I don't need to lose any weight." He jokes.

He stops and looks at the bow for a moment, pondering something.

"Pick it up and see if you can even draw it, but be careful not to dry fire it. You could break the string or the bow itself and hurt yourself or me." He stops for a moment and smiles at her, mischievously. "You should also be more careful when you bathe too, there's snakes out there that could kill you."

Thoughts;

Lenora began to walk up to the longbow but turned her head furiously back at Jin after reading closely into his words. Were you watching me? she wanted to ask, but composed herself before she started yelling. "Well thank you for keeping an eye out for the snakes for me," she commented dryly and picked up the longbow. It was a tad heavier than Lenora expected but she lifted it up and pretended to draw an imaginary arrow, pulling back on the string til her fingers touched the corner of her mouth. The motion of pulling the string back seemed a bit stiff, but it wasn't completely impossible for her to draw back the bow. "If you keep arming me, at this rate, I think the snakes will be more afraid of me than I am of them," the corners of her mouth quirked upward in a tiny grin, and Lenora set the bow down after relaxing her grip. "Although, I'll be careful to only scare off the snakes and not any other animals. For your sake."
The whole shack smelled heavenly, Lenora noted. Her stomach let out another grumble as it responded to the smell of the stew.

Jin smiles slyly as he watches her respond to his watching of her, he crosses his arms and shrugs.

"Well, to be fair I was watching over you, not watching you, although I did peak a few times. I know, I know, but I'm a man, and we used to....."

He narrows his eyes, as if trying to remember who 'we' was and what they used to do, but shakes his head. He notices her pick up the bow, draw it and he nods to himself in approval.

"You're probably right, I think I'll have to keep my eye on you. You might kill me in my sleep after I finish training you." He says, tapping his chin with his finger. "You know, you seem to have a natural grace with the bow for a beginner. I might teach you how to use it better when the sun comes up."

He widens his eyes and turns on his heel and dashes toward the cauldron, and pulls the hanger away from the fire. He grabs two bowls and fills them up and holds one out for Lenora.

"Careful, beautiful. It's really hot." He says.

"Please, I'd have no reason to kill you," she answered with a half smile. "That'd be the greatest crime I'd commit, to kill a person who took me in." Her stomach made a sound of protest again, and Lenora sighed. "You will cease those uncouth noises at once," she scolded her stomach, then sat with her legs tucked under her by the fireside. She accepted the bowl from Jin and blew into the soup to cool it down, before bringing the rim to her lips and taking a slurp. "It's really delicious, Jin," Lenora complimented, trying not to burn her tongue at the pace she was eating. She finished her serving and set the empty bowl down.
"Did you remember something?" Lenora asked, watching the fire with half lidded eyes that expressed that she was comfortable despite the gravity of her situation. "Although I dislike how watching me bathe was what triggered it," she mumbled quietly.

Jin laughs at her and shakes his head.

"You might as well be in a Shakespearean play or something." He says.

He finishes his soup and looks over at her and laughs again.

"Yeah, I did. It's a bit faint, though. Seems like it was a lifetime ago, but I remember me and another boy would sneak into the female baths and watch, I think we were caught once when the blonde boy slipped and knocked a branch loose. Thanks for the compliment, too. I've obviously had enough time to perfect my survival recipes."

Shitsuki Hayate

Stumbling on his feet like a new born child, barley able to hold himself together for much longer he fall's to his knee's. His breathing was heavy and blood was drooling down from his mouth, 'What happened?...' He thought as he squeezed his purple eyes tightly shut, too scared to open them again. 'What...Happen to me?' Feeling a single tear roll down his cheek at the unknown pain in his heart, Hayate token in a shaky breath in attempt to calm himself. He had to get himself together, he had to get things right. He was bleeding from the wound in his stomach...but...why is there a wound there?! What is happening!? What is...

Reita's eyes fluttered open, slowly taking in the view. There were many trees and buildings, birds flew overhead as feathers fell onto Reita's face. One fell on her nose, which caused her to sneeze. Where... Her thoughts were interrupted when a sudden pain shot through her heart. She clutched her chest, wondering if the pain was a result of the new setting she'd been cast into, without any memory of how she even got there. But that wasn't all, it wasn't just the setting. It seemed like the more she tried to think about her past, the more her heart hurt. She sat on her knees, observing her surroundings with wide eyes.

She rubbed her eyes with her sleeve, staring in disbelief at what seemed to be another person the ground. She ran hastily to his side, looking over his body and realizing he was suffering from something. "Wh-what's wrong!? Are you okay?" Reita knew he wasn't as her eyes fell on the blood dripping from his mouth. I have to do something...! But what can I do...?

[ I think the RP is supposed to be morning by now? I'll have Lenora sleep and she could just wake up in the morning. ]

"Is that so?" Lenora responded, bringing her knees to her chest and resting her head on them. She yawned, but not because of Jin's story. "You sounded like quite the mischievous child. Maybe you still are. Puck, I think, you remind me of Puck from Midsummer," she barely formed her words as her speech became slurred from exhaustion. "Now the hungry lion roars / And the wolf behowls the moon / Whilst the heavy ploughman snores / All with weary task fordone." Lenora's eyelids closed without her permission, and she started to enter the land of dreams.

Jin smiles at her as she falls asleep and he walks over to her and picks her up and puts her in the bed. He yawns and sits against the bed watching the fire and before long he falls asleep. What seemed like seconds later to him, he awoke and looked around. The fire had died down and was just smoking embers, and the morning sun peeked through the window, the sun rays hitting him in the face. He groans, stands and stretches and let's out a small scream then a laugh.

"Hey Lenny, It's morning. Time to show you how to use that bow, yeah?" He says.

(Yeah, it is. I had totally forgotten about that. XD )

The morning rays hit Lenora's eyes and she fluttered them open. She rubbed away the sleep from her eyes and stretched, at first confused about her wherebouts, and then she recalled the events of the previous day. That's right. I woke up in the forest, found a village and met Jin. She looked at the man standing at the side of the bed and nodded. "Let me change into my clothes, I think they're dry by now." Lenora swung her legs over the bed and stood up. She walked outside, and sure enough, the clothes she had washed were now dry. Feeling comfortable in clothing that fit her, Lenora went back inside after she had changed and placed her borrowed clothes on the bed.

"Hopefully they worked out for you." He says. "Those are my back ups too, I found them here."

He smiles and and bends over to pick the bow up and removes the quiver full of arrows that were hanging above it. He looks over his shoulder at her and smiles.

"Are you ready?" He asks.
