Cause of California's strict emission laws, highway patrol pull you over and check under your hood. They can either write a fine for illegal modification and court, or impound your car. That's worst then speeding...unless your being chased by cops and doing a high speed chase.

killar wrote: Meh, I got pulled over today because I have limo tint on all the windows on the Scion =( It sucks because I've had those windows tinted like that for a year and no cops have ever cared. But oh no! The state trooper in his F150 has to pull out that damn laser thing and test my windows. Ugh, now I have to wait and see how much I have to pay in fines =( Have any of you ever been pulled over? LMAO, yeah a bunch of times. My last one was for "altered suspension". Which the cop basically caught me in the act due to my stupidity. The funny thing is that he asked me to lift it all the way up so that he could see what I had done to it. He let me off on a warning and that was that. After a while a BUNCH of cops would follow me when I would drive my truck. Now they leave me alone cause my new ride is... under construction but still drivable and plain looking... well I don't think anymore. |

I got pulled over once for speeding...
Before i made a left turn, i was going around 120kmph on a 60 road and then i made a left turn at an intersection (at 30-40kmph obviously) where a cop had stopped. He said saw me speed up to 100, which scared the shit out of me cuz i thot he saw me driving 120 on the other road... LUCKILY, he didnt... he just saw me at the intersection, and as he pursued, "apparently" by the time he caught up to me, i slowed down to 60... when i never sped faster than 80 after the turn. He gave me a warning... but i think i didnt deserve that... cuz i should've got a ticket if he really knew what speed i was going at... i think he just wanted to pull me over... jackass. |

A little while ago, I got a ticket for going 46 in a 45 zone. Also was pulled for modified exhaust, body of car too low, and a "street racer package" lol.
cop: "I could tow your car right now if i wanted to, but because you weren't jumping through lanes i'm letting you slide!" me: "Officer, how come i'm being cited for going 46?" cop: "Do you know what a speed limit is? A LIMIT." cop searched me, had me sit down on the curb with my legs out and crossed with hands to my sides or in front, and he searched the car (lol). Judge dismissed the speeding violation and the body of car being lower than lowest point of vehicle rim was dismissed by the CHP inspection, exhaust got ref'd and passed, and car was deemed as "just an audio shop vehicle". |

Yeah California sucks especially when its the end of the month. They'll try to write you a ticket on mostly anything that's stupid just to get their quota.

Police funding and rewards for street racing were increased by over 2 million i believe this last year. They've even tried cracking down on sanctioned and legal race events, so after you finish your stuff, once you're driving out with your track timeslip, a cop's waiting for you around the corner to bust you for modded exhaust and etc. etc. after all, sub-11sec slips and 'street legal' just don't exist in the same sentence, lol. Nowadays the only way you'll be legit is if you know the event is cooporating with the police so the cops promise NOT to mess with u unless u do burnouts or something. Cali has the most legitimate racers and enthusiasts, but also one of the largest amounts of ricers and street racers. |

that's really a shame for a cop to creep up on you after a legal event .. but i guess i can see some of the reasons

Never, i am good at avoiding the fuzz. But my friend has been pulled over several times after buying his ford probe project car. It has illegal exaust and 86% tinting thickness or something like that and the legal limit is about 35%. Fun car though he can set off just about anybodys car alarm when he wants to just by reving past 6.5k.

I started just hauling my mod car on a trailer instead of driving on the street. It is the best way not to get any probs. But that is really retarded and pretty low of cops. The sad thing is, with all my cards mods, its actually probly safer on the street than most cars as it can maneuver, or speed up to avoid problems 10x better than most street cars. I even kept all the mods clean and accurate so even when doing big pulls i still wont spin the tires. |

OMG man, that sucks even worse. The sad thing is, they will even pull you over and say you are "street race modded" just for have a sports package which actually comes with the car when you buy it from retailer!!! My dad has a 98-99 BMW M3, and he gets ticket all the time, and its just so rediculous because the tint he has on the BMW was legal when he baught the car "retail" with tint optionial, But like a year later they adjusted the legal "Limit" so now his tint level is illegal. Also the "Sports package" that the car had as a optional service gets him caught alot, which is so stupid because its all retail sold from a legal dealership. |
