I finished college, and I think it is one of the biggest wastes of time and money in my entire life. Very little useful job skills are taught in college, and most of the information I learned was mediocre at best. And any useful knowledge probably could have been obtained on the Internet or library. I wished I had spent that money on something useful, like starting my own business or the stock exchange. I wished I had spent the time, working for apprenticeship/vocational school acquiring real marketable skills.

University is just a rubber stamp requirement for be qualified for certain white-collared jobs. Even though you learn very little useful knowledge from the degree (in terms of applying them to the work force), hey you have that covenant degree required for many white-collared jobs on the market. Congratulations! Bravo! Bravo for earning that prohibitively expensive and time consuming degree required as the gateway to certain high paying jobs. And if you can't find a high paying job to pay back your student loans, then that's too bad. I hope you enjoy paying them back with your minimum wage job, while living with your parents instead of being able to afford your own home.

The job market is oversaturated with desperate college graduates, so employers are motivated to hire someone who's desperate for a job to do the most work for the least pay.

I wished the American education system can wake up from the American dream, and teach its children that a 4 year bachelor degree is NOT fundamental to financial success and happiness. If more people pursued a vocational school/trade or even two year associates degree, the country wouldn't be drowning in over a trillion of outstanding student loan debt from too many people pursing worthless 4 year bachelor degrees.

Not all degrees are worthless in terms of providing you a high-paying job. But the majority of them, and since the majority of pursue liberal arts degrees. Liberal arts are quite useful by themselves, but I don't think paying tens of thousands of dollars to learn a liberal arts is worth it, when you can learn it on your own time.

Here's a tip. Torrent your textbooks whenever possible. It is illegal...who cares. Overcharging students for textbooks is downright criminal, and should be illegal, except the textbook publishers have a MONOPOLY on the market. So avoid being ripped off from textbook stores...except now many textbooks come with custom online material, forcing you to buy the newest version of the textbook.

Sorry for this unhappy rant, but I think university was just a big waste of time and money for me. If you find it useful, I respect your opinion, but do realize that many people, besides me, also find it to be a big waste of time and money.

Starting college this year. A commuter. So no, I won't be bringing anything anime related. However, I do have my phone. I can always use apps to watch or read anytime I want.

The only problem I have is I have to be there for all 5 days thanks to my science labs.

Yep and I will start my first year next month! My initiative is to join my community college's anime club, but I won't bring a lot of anime stuff since I won't live there (it's not too far away from my home).

I've only got two more years of College left!! I live with one of the guys from my band and my brother roughly a 20 minute walk to school which isn't bad, except in the winter. I have my One Piece Grand Line ship models and Gunpla models displayed around my room but my love for all things Japan is well known among my group of friends so I have no problem showing people all my cool nerdy gear.
