Completely agree. Everything I've seen from them has been terrible. I'd take a fansub over any of their stuff any day.

Well. A bit unfortunate with Tokyo ESP :/ Had hoped to be able to see it on Crunchyroll.

Man now I got to see if FUNi picks up Tokyo ESP.....

It seems certain someone here has it. For all the "ex-US" licenses except Broken Blade TV (which simply had no US/Canada simulcast), it has always been Funimation that had the series in question.

For the sake of clarity, where are you seeing this information? I checked the announcement again, and don't see it there, and no notice is listed in under the "Availability Information" on the show page.

Of course, for obvious reasons, I can't see the first episode itself, so those in the UK are getting that message only when they try to play the video, that would explain it. (Although if that is the case, they should really add it under the "Availability Information").

i hate copyriight stupid invention that block knowledge to the human kind , guess i have to wait for Tokyo ESP to be sub or maybe continu to learn Japanese and be done with sub. Damn copyright we hate you !!!

Without copyright, there would be very little anime or any other form of entertainment that would take funds to produce, even if distribution would be free.

The only way media would be created is either via self-publishing (think more YouTube user videos than Hollywood Blockbusters on even network TV series) or patronage (a wealthy individual or group of individuals paying in advance for something to be produced, but everyone else gets it free). Even if you tried supporting something with advertising, someone could make a copy of it, strip out the ads, and redistribute it with no legal impediment.

Copyright is a necessary evil. Perhaps what you really want is mandatory licensing.

Heck, I wouldn't mind FUNi having the stream available only on their site, but I would really love to see them use R video service instead of theirs. It buffers way too much for my taste.

And I have to agree with everyone else when it comes to Gundam. Gundam is going to end up being available only via Youtube, like the last 2 series (Gundam Build Fighters & Gundam Age). Hopefully they won't restrict the US like they did with Gundam AGE though.

Some people have an issue streaming from CR, while many don't have an issue with Funimation, so while it would be better for you and some others, it certainly wouldn't for everyone.

Regarding Gundam AGE, the GundamInfo channel on YouTube did eventually make that available in the US (except for episode 4, which was apparently an error, but was never corrected before they pulled it from US availability again).

I viewed it there from December 21, 2013 until March 5, 2014, so I know it was available for that period of time (and some time after, as I checked back occasionally to see if they had corrected the US block on episode 4).

There is always the chance they won't simulcast the Gundam-san shorts at all, although I would hope if that were going to be the case, they would break with tradition and license them to CR.

I'm guessing you are referring to Tokyo ESP?
If so don't fear Madman has the rights to Tokyo ESP both streaming wise (on Animelab) and home video announced here http://www.madman.com.au/news/new-acquisition-tokyo-esp-debuts-on-animelab-com-july-11/
Just to note. Madman announced via facebook a few hours ago that the first episode will be delayed a few days. So you will have to wait a bit for it unfortunately.

It is a very high probability that Funimation has it licensed for the US, but has yet to announce it.

At least for Black Butler: Book of Circus, you have another choice for it than Funimation (or even Hulu): Daisuki.

You'll have to wait a week, but that would be true even at Funimation.com if one is not a subscriber.

For those that may have tried Daisuki before, but didn't like it, try it again. The site relaunched at the beginning of this month with a new design and new web player.

Personally, I would say those in the US and Canada who aren't a Funimation subscriber should try Daisuki anyway. It has HD (just create a free account and log in), and far fewer ads than Hulu (only one, unless that has changed in the past 11 days).

Sucks Tokyo ESP isn't available for Latin American audiences when we can't even go to Funimation's (if it does happen to be them who picked this up) site to legally stream it there in the first place. Just like with almost every Funimation show out there that gets picked up CR. Thanks for the rest of the shows you got for us to watch in the meantime though.

"Availability Notes

Episode 1 will be available in English later this week."

The video is available but the English subs aren't. It seems like it's only a 1 episode thing (I suppose they want to translate it themselves rather than use Funimation's or Daisuki's rubbish - Funimation's subs are bad enough but Daisuki's are significantly worse).

Apparently that gets filtered out for countries that can't see it, and replaced by the "Sorry, due to licensing limitations, videos are unavailable in your region." message, as that is all I see under "Availability Information" here in the US.
