if you've never had braces, would you ever consider getting them?

Why would one undergo painful dental surgery, and a recovery period unless they actually needed them? I mean most people are born with straight teeth. And honestly a slight crook to them is perfectly natural, we as a society are far too obsessed with how we look. As long as you're not some potato chip eating land whale you are usually doing all right in the looks department.

I don't know if you're scolding me or cheering me up.

The dentist admires my teeth for being natural straight.

I guess I don't need them.

At my age is very uncommon and i have a private dentist so it would cost me a small fortune i had a quote to have some teeth removed and we were talking a 4 digit figure I'd rather buy a next Gen console and a pile of games but never say never.

I considered getting them back in 1998. My lower jaw got affected by an auto accident when I was 2. I visited a dentist in the area then and they determined all the teeth could be straightened for $3K and 2 years of time wearing the braces. I was reluctant and waited a few weeks before telling the dentist yea or nay. A buddy of mine had 2 teenage sons who had braces. After chatting with them and hearing about their experiences tolerating the pain and inconvenience it became an easy decision.

Didn't happen.

Talked to my wife (who raised 3 kids and understands the desires of youth far better than I do) about your situation and she thinks you should go for it. I didn't take into consideration your age (wayyyyyy younger). I was thinking in terms of someone older than 50. Since you're not in that era yet getting it done now would equate to win-win. Once the 2-year or less wait is over wearing braces it's the rest of your Life.

Go for it.

If I had to get them medically, then I would.

I don't need braces so I don't ever want to get them. Having nice teeth is one of the things I've been blessed with.

I've had braces it was def a pain but I was really picked on and even bullied bc of how awful my teeth were. Now I'm complimented on my smile and I don't hide it or anything, I was young tho and my parents made the choice for me. I hated the pain at the time but I'm happy my teeth are straight, I do have a terrible fear of dentists bc of it tho

No. Glasses and braces don't mix.
