I wonder if people drawn to anime feel more "isolated" than others talking from a western perspective. et. la being an artistic personality,, google it, its kind of interesting. Feelings of introvertedness (for the lack of a better word) between bouts of heavy sosialisation. Like you can see things from every possible angle put your unable to use it. And when you socialize with others you feel like you only have so much to give before you need a break through isolation.
you can probably catch my drift.

True.

But I'm drawn to a lot of things; so I'm not really sure how you'd quantify that... Like outside of anime I love extreme sports... Travelling.
I think watching anime is the most convenient hobby I have, it's easily accessible (it used to be harder).

In a social setting, I often find myself thinking "I could be at home, watching anime...".

But on the subject of liking anime in a western culture-dominated place, I am the only person in my group of "friends" that actively watches, or even likes, anime. When the topic of conversation changes to anime (only when Netflix is being browsed) I hear tones of sarcasm and hate. So yes, isolation in my anime interest is something I do feel.

I also feel that I can only take so much socialization at one time. Especially when I'm starting to hate what my "friends" are becoming.

"It's not like I don't hate people, its just sometimes I wish they would stop talking"

-Ritsu Kawai from The Kawai Complex Guide to Manors and Hostel Behavior

That's pretty much me. Plus the fact that I like anime and I'm the only one in my area that actively watches anime.

Totally introverted. Need time to recharge after being around people. I'd say for every hour I am around people I need two hours of time alone.

I don't know that that has anything to do with my viewing habits, though.

Google'd and it appears to be a, "a fine line between creativity and mental illness". Which I think is total bs! Whatever, as long as they don't try to "correct" or "fix" them. Turns out the ones that label the "crazy people" are "normal" psh. Flip it around then, I say, what if those assholes are the crazy ones. ah... I went on a little rant.

but fine line, fine line. Meaning it looks like it but it ain't.

I know more people that like anime now that I have grown older.

But in high school, I was the only one who like anime and so, I was alone for this interest.

Do I have an artistic personality?

I guess I do.

After all, I am also a person who enjoys reading and writing.

So yea.

Are you talking about wanting to do something but.. are like too shy to? Or wanting to put your two cents in but are too antisocial? >__>

Damn, I must be the most artistic person I know.

Most people I know who love anime are introverted.

Artistic? Well, there are certainly a lot of creative folk who happen to love anime/manga.

I'm an artist myself. I started drawing and painting since I was 5 and my mom always took me to contests. Growing up, anime has been very special to me because it inspired a lot. Now I collect japanese/korean dolls and I paint them myself. 100% artistic personality and I'm 100% introverted and anti-social. I have friends and go out regularly but I can't help always feeling the need to go home, and be alone with my dolls, do my things by myself since none of my friends share any of my hobbies/likes...

I'm eccentric. I really don't care about what people think about my hobbies. I'll tell you any day what I like and why I like it. And I could give a damn about what you think, because 1: I don't even know you. 2: I don't want to know you. 3: If you want to know me, you'll look past the fact that I'm eccentric. I still to this day don't have a best friend(other than my Twin Brother, but his family so it doesn't count).

Depends on who you're with. I feel comfortable always but people who are open to experience are easier and more interesting to talk to
