Yes. I know several people with gardens (who so kindly give so freely ^^ ), and there are two markets within 5 miles that sell locally grown veggies/fruits. I also buy raw honey and homemade jam. ^^

we also have a lot of big farms in my region, so the grocery stores buy produce from them in the spring/summer. & my state doesn't put a tax on food. It's pretty easy to eat fresh/organic at a low cost in my area, especially at this time of year.

would love to get my hands on some fresh meat though..... sadly i neither know how to hunt nor people who hunt. and even if i did know how to hunt i have no means to do the skinnin & cleanin. & i ain't payin the prices at the butcher's place T_T

Not generally on purpose, as far as "organic" foods go. There are several food/farmers markets around here. One place that is just down the street from me features local and U.S.A. grown foods as well as organics. Their prices are very competitive so I like to go shopping there. The local WinCo stores gets some local foods and so do the WalMart stores. They've begun to figure out that if the local people don't have jobs that pay very well, they tend not to buy much of ANYTHING.

If it didn't cost so much, my family probably would. It sucks how just about everything that's healthy costs more.
