That really just happened, didn't it?

I thought my computer was on the Fritz.

I don't really think it matters at this point whether Kanetsugu is a guy or a girl. He has gotten quite a good amount of character development making him something much more than just a 1-dimensional NTR antagonist.

Aki also seems to think that Kanetsugu is the Masamune that she knew when she was a child while Kanetsugu knows nothing about that, so there is really a disconnect there.

Aki also seems to like Masamune himself but doesn't know how she should feel because of everything that has transpired with Neko. At first glance the relationships seem a bit complicated, but really they are pretty straight forward and well crafted.

My hope is that Masamune ends up with Neko, oh how I love Neko, but we all know that he will end up with Aki, which in and of itself is a great story too.

Neko all day every day. It saddens me how often the girl I like the best is the one doomed to side character status.

I was just more surprised the author could make me believe Kanetsugu was male if she was really female the whole time. Probably the best gender-bender I've read in a manga in a long time.

Wait nooo. If Kanetsugu is a girl, this author has done a good job in fooling me.

I feel that Kanetsugu was meant to be a guy at first, but since there were a lot of people complaining about the slight NTR tone the series picked up with the introduction of him/her the author made Kanetsugu a girl to quiet those people down. That's just my opinion though, since for me it doesn't really change anything at this point.

I'm not a fan of NTR but somehow I am okay if he person who is doing the NTR is a woman rather than a man so I actually kind of like his development.

It's like these people are so used to Harem/romantic comedies not having love triangles or something.

The thing is though, the character was introduced as a Masamune impersonator, and not only that but a short chubby guy who looks more cute than threatening. Kanetsugu is also shorter than Aki. It should have been obvious that wouldn't develop into anything anyway.

Well, yeah, the relationship was going to last only as long as Kanetsugu could keep up the facade that he was Aki's friend Piggy from back in the day.

Though, I do like the dynamic that Masamune is going through all this when, if he'd just told the truth in the beginning, he could have already accomplished his goal by now.

The more recent chapters make it obvious the author is setting up whatever happened in Aki and Masamune's past to be a misunderstanding so I'm very curious to see how he will try to redeem them as they are currently both very unpleasant individuals.
I'd almost feel like the author was intentionally making the other characters more likeable to contrast how much of a pair of wank stains Aki and Masamune are if it wasn't for how shoddy some of the writing has been leading me to believe it is more of an accident than anything.

Neko, Tae, Kojuurou and hell even Yoshino, who is quite devious and spiteful herself, are much nicer characters. Tae best gurl 2015 tru factz.
