I do not like the new layout Sam I Am,
I do not like it in a box,
I do not like it with a fox,
I do not like it in a train,
I do not like it in the rain...
I do not like the new layout Sam I Am.

News needs to be on the top,
Can't see half of the new simulcasts, and that's what you should be promoting, not the featured shows, Naruto and Fairy Tail and the like don't need promotion, everyone knows about them and where it can be watched.
Featured shows module should be either a link to another page, able to be hidden. I am going to go out on a limb and say I don't think that most people care what the featured shows are. We mostly come here for the simulcasts.

tl;dr: the old version was better.

Suggestion: Allow us to hide certain shows on the list on the main page. I do not watch Naruto, One Piece or some of the other simulcasts, they are taking up spaces for shows I do watch and would like to see dates for.

Perhaps you could make it so that shows in our queue are put up on the list... of course we would have to put them on our watched list but that's not a big deal.

I also don't like it. Right now simulcast section should be called featured shows since this is what it does, it features 12 simulcasts.

I have absolutely no interest in any of the featured series. I'd much rather that space show the five most recently updated shows from my queue.

I really don't like this new design. The old one was far superior.

I hate that the Site News as been pushed down, I liked it more when it was on the top.

Please change this CR or at least give us the option to change it back or better yet, let us customize the front to our liking.

Any response from some administrator about this horrible design? You really need to re-evaluate your UI designer.

The simulcast section on the front page was the main way I use to navigate to new episodes (alongside Coming Soon/Now Showing) so it's obvious that I dislike the new layout.

Same here. You also got to see simulcast times without drilling down to the episode or series page. You could also easily find a show 1-2 days after its premiere quickly and go straight to view the latest episode. Now, you have to view the calendar or the All New Anime page or the search function or Shows, then go to the show page and then finally the episode page. You could also see if a show was taking that week off easily.

The comprehensive simulcast listing was also nice for when you caught up with all your shows, and wanted to start a new series in the current season (latest episode number showed quickly if it was a continuing series and how far you were behind to catch up, and again the premiere times if were more inclined to watch right when it's released). No drilling down into listings, show pages, etc.

The new layout of the panels, the organization, is simply bad UI design. It's disorganized, sloppy. And redundant. It's Tuesday night/Wednesday morning where I am. Naruto Shippuden is mentioned in 5 areas presently on the main page, SAO is 3 times, meanwhile most newly acquired simulcasts and several continuing shows aren't found anywhere under the new layout. Not a peep of a mention. Most of the shows from just this past weekend aren't even shown.

This is just another of those things that's becoming more and more the norm with CR. Very simple, little changes that used to be there or if implemented could vastly improve the usability of the site or the information passed on to (potential, upgrading) customers. Like putting the chapter numbers included in the volumes of the mangas CR carries. CR just can't be counted on to implement such easy, reasonable changes anymore.

Please show all the simulcasts on the main page. I liked it better the way it was before.

I suspect this change is intended to grab the attention of new users. Slam popular shows at the top of the page so they know what Crunchyroll offers. This is a poor way of doing it though... The featured shows area is very sloppy, and the Simulcast list would make new users think Crunchroll only has 12 shows.

Edit: Also just noticed the random "Naruto Shippuden Episodes" list at the very bottom of the page. Uh?

I don't like this new design. At all.

Having to scroll down to read the news really lessens their - what's the word? - range/impact(?) and why you would go ahead and omit a good portion of simulcasts (but place those few that remain in a more prominent place) doesn't make any sense to me.

In comparison I don't see how the new layout holds any benefit over the old one in terms of usability, right now it feels like a redesign that's only half finished.

IMO not a fan of the new layout with shows taking up the top part of the site.

Prefer news articles at the top.

I didn't even use what they provided in the previous layout with all the simulcast shows at the bottom of the page. I either use the queue or the weekly sidebar thing to check for new episodes.

I spent a while editing the CSS to see what looked nice but basically, the old design but wider - I want a 1200px (at least) screen not 900px! Its so thin as it is now..

I wish for a customizable layout where we could place stuff where we like it (but I won't hold my breath for this), but I liked the old layout compared to this new one. I miss the news being at the top

Yeah, that's been there forever too. Sort of like the Popular Shows on the bottom of the page on the left. Naruto Shippuden is always in 4 sections of the main page: Featured Shows, Simulcasts, Now Showing, Naruto Shippuden Episodes, and Popular Shows. There wasn't a new episode today, otherwise it'd be mentioned under Now Showing and All-New Anime too.

So 6 mentions on the main page for one show, while many simulcasts aren't even mentioned anywhere on the main page. Notice the ridiculous redundancy too. Except for Hunter x Hunter, 4 of the 5 Featured Shows are among the 12 hand selected Simulcasts. Similar situation with the Popular Shows section too. Do they really need 3 abbreviated lists of "popular" shows? How about once single complete list instead, with the popular, hand-selected shows mentioned first....oh, right, that's what we had under the old layout.

Seems pretty clear whoever promoted the redesign/new layout doesn't really actually use the main page as their launching point to view shows. The recent addition of the "see all simulcasts »" link doesn't solve anything--it's still a drill down and that page is already off the Shows link (top menu). That listing lacks simulcast time, upcoming and latest episode, and when those episodes aired, something the Simulcast section normally showed complete and all in one spot.

I can't help but notice the reduction in comments under News stories too since the redesign.

Improvements should be made that improve simplicity and profitability at the same time. Crunchyroll seemed to opt for more promotion and profitability this update while reducing simplicity. Having to click on several links to reach the information you had in one page is just bad design. If I were the project manager I would fire the front-end designer immediately. It seems to be the work of some intern or something.

Here is what happened to the site that I noticed (because it impacts my experience of the site.):

1. News & Current Simulcasts swapped places (a simple copy and paste of one line if they are doing things properly - using partial views.)
2. Added Featured Shows to the top right of the page that screams we want you to watch the crap out of these shows to improve revenue (I know they are a company and exist for a profit, but such blatant usage is disgusting since it does nothing to help the customer.)
3. Removed almost all of the simulcasts from the front page. There is a 12 simulcast limit it seems when there are at least 50 from the last point I counted. Yes, all 50 should be on there. However, there should be an option to remove simulcasts you do not want to ever see again which would be a very welcoming change for me and probably lots of other users.
