I personally think it's Chihayafuru... If you consider karuta a sport...

If not, then it's Free!

Yooooooo I totally forgot about Chihayafuru and I would consider it a sport. Damn I really wish there was a third season....

I consider Slam Dunk to be the best sport manga/anime.

However, my personal favorite sport manga would be Captain Tsubasa. I guess it's because I love football (soccer), and I'm not a fan of basketball, but Slam Dunk is definitely one of the best if not the best.

Slam Dunk is the very first sports anime I ever watched followed by Prince of Tennis. I agree with you completely but there are now modern tittles that are more favorable than the old original sports anime

A knight in the area made me cry. Multiple times. No other sports anime has done that.

On a personal level Haikyuu has been the most fun for me to watch because I played Volley Ball in Jr. high as well as High school. I was also one of the technique coaches in high school. So it's been really reflective when watching it.

Story line wise Yowapeda and Baby steps

Hype wise: Kuroko. Season 3 is going to be great. Shit is going to go down.

I saw that and I liked it but it was just a short anime and I just didn't like the overall quality of the anime.

Duuuuuuude when the little brother had his older brother's heart and played soccer for him.....that brought tears to me too. But its not better than Haikyuu!! and Yowapeda and Baby Step don't have that much a a good story line......not better than Haikyuu!! haha

I can understand why some would think it was "too short" though I personally liked where it ended, it would've been a bit tedious, more-so would be it underwhelming since the obstacles in the story progressively got more difficult, unless the writer can continue bringing more and more complex situations (also more difficult), the continued storytelling would be much less exciting and ruin the flow as well as its consistency

Without being subjective, what do you mean "overall quality?" please be more specific, regardless it's my favorite above the rest by far

I meant by overall quality as in the character development, basically almost no story, and etc. Most of the anime was just the main character pitching in tough situations setup by the team manager because of the gambling contract they made. Idk it just didn't seem like an exciting anime to me sorry. But I really did like it.

Your right about the lack of character development, though Tokuchi is honestly already a perfect character lol, at least for the part he was created for, his character can be compared to Akagi (another psychological anime). The story is there, it's just not very strong, lacks a central focus apart from the winning while also never concluding with its initial goal it introduced to the audience in the beginning.
