This is my first post so pardon me if I do this wrong. I would like to describe my problem with the Crunchyroll App that has just started recently (2 weeks and going). I get on to the app and it loads up fine but as soon as it hits to loading up Titles,Queues, etc. all I get is the loading circle in the corner, then it says "Cannot connect to media servers, check your connection and try again" error. I tried many techniques that have been suggested on the forums but none seem to work, so I thought I'd post directly on here instead. I have found that occasionally I could open up the search and find the anime of my choice, yet it does not load up afterward, just gives me the title and background. There is a slight occasion where i get an episode and it runs perfectly then after i try to move on to the next i get the "cant connect to media servers" error again. I have tried it on my other system (PS Vita) and the same occurs. I've tried on a laptop and get the videos and everything no issue. I do not have laptop of my own so this is not an option sadly. My internet is not the issue, so I was hoping that maybe this is a well known problem and it would be fixed soon, but its been a bit now and i'm a little saddened to see this. Is there any way of solving this? I'd rather not end my sub because of this but these are the only devices I have to run CR. Any help/info would be appreciated. Thank you

I assume it was working fine before 2 weeks ago, so have you made any changes to your home network since then?

I'm also having lots of trouble the last few days, and I haven't changed anything.

Frequent "check the network" errors, even though everything else on the PS3 works fine.

Frequent pauses during video playback.

I thought everything was good after the PS3 app was fixed, but ever since the last update (the one turned on the feature where it remembers where you were in an episode from anywhere in your history), it's been bad, and it's been getting worse lately.

It's now nearly impossible to use, and that's very frustrating, especially as a paid member.

No I haven't changed anything im sure. And it seems Thornburg is experiencing the same except when i do get a vid to pop up and play (like i tried today and got an episode of Saint Seiya:Lost Canvas to work) is plays fine yet can not continue to the next episode to view due to "network connection" error. And then i back out of it to loading circles, no matter where i go.

I cant get CR app to run smoothly on my ps4 or ps3. always pauses for a little while and then continues. i have both systems on cables( no wifi ) on a 50mps connection.

This is my first month using CrunchyRoll. I've been aware of it and its services since its beginning, but never really thought I needed and didn't really care for what I saw of it in the beginning. Since my PC died, I've had to resort to streaming services available on the PS3 for entertainment and ended up caving in and signing up for CrunchyRoll, being very pleasantly surprised by the selection available. However, that pleasant surprise has pretty much turned into a pretty intense hatred for the service (which I am paying for) since nearly every time I go to watch an anime now, it's about an almost 100% guarantee it'll not work or will only work for the first 3 or 4 minutes of an episode during reasonable waking hours.

This problem has been going on for at least two weeks. I'm not a programmer, but considering you have a paying subscription base and that's pretty much half of a subscription's length right there, it feels like whatever problem in the coding or on the server end that is causing this should have been addressed as soon as it started showing up.

I'd like to keep using this service, as it's nice and the subtitle scripts are pretty good for the most part, but when I can only watch anime super late at night or super early in the morning, it's not worth the couple of bucks to me. I'd rather spend that money on a burrito. At least the resulting farts would be consistent and I wouldn't have to worry about them buffering.

I am having a lot of trouble with my PS3 app, as well. It seems like there might be caching issues from the Crunchyroll hosting provider. I'm running everything wired and I'm also connected to 50mbps on Verizon. I have no problem with any of my other web browsing.

Bandwidth testing shows 45mbps with a 12 millisecond ping. I'm not having networking issues.

As I am paying for this, I'd really like it to work.

You know, what really makes me mad about this is that I am trying to pay for the content I want. And that it's sitting on the internet waiting for me to just download it, fansubbed.

Oddly enough, for me PS3 app works fine. Actually, better than on my PC most of the time (which might just be a coincidence).
I'm located in northern Europe so we might get our content from different servers so you might want to disclose your location in these types of posts.

Funny that you mention that YoukoFB, as I live in the US (Virginia) and it doesnt work but i have friends in California and Hawaii and theirs works fine. Idk how these things work so i cant be technical but maybe its just the server my coast or something works with that is having troubles? Idk =( also a lil update, My Vita seems to be able to play an episode or two when i search up a title individually. As for the menus and stuff, still a no go, PS3 app tho is still nothin.

I'm having this problem as well. It's a little annoying because I have to keep restarting the app to get it to work properly. Hope there's a fix soon, but considering how long it took last time...

I am in Northern Virginia, in case that's relevant. I wonder if this is a networking problem (perhaps peering agreement) with Sony and Crunchyroll? Either way, I'm paying for a non-functional product. And that angers me.

posted on a similar post a moment ago but seems this one is more accurate to post to, ps3, no issue with the network at home, just CR and its not something that should be occuring, as it clearly has happened for a while. still waiting on an official mention as to why its going on, also seeing the attitude on the other forum upset me a lot but even more so is that this issue is clearly wide spread

I have not been having difficulty to the degree other people here are mentioning, but in the past couple of weeks, shows do seem to be freezing rather frequently. Yesterday I was able to just leave it alone and it eventually ran again by itself, but prior to that I had to stop the episode and start it up again each time it froze which happened maybe 15-20 times during an hour drama episode. Let me be clear that all of the buttons still worked, but the show would not resume playing until I stopped it and started it back up. It has been happening with everything we play on crunchyroll through the PS3 lately.

I was away for a week 3 weeks ago and had not had any issues at all with the PS3 app since the update. The problems started two weeks ago when we returned home. I also have a wired connection and I'm in NH if that makes any difference.

Well, I was going to ask this same question before I put in a help ticket but I guess that's unneeded. Though, this just started for me today. so...

I'm a loyal Crunchyroll user so I'll put in a ticket and see if they see it or not.

Edit: Just shut off my PS3 and restarted it and now I'm broadcasting shows in spanish? what o.o? I live in NY so i shouldn't be getting this.

Honestly this is plain unacceptable. I log onto Crunchyroll right after playing Ultra Street Fighter online and its telling me that it can't access my online features. I even restarted my PS3 twice.

I checked Netflix and Hulu and they both work, and I went back to playing USSFIV and it still runs smoothly, so the connection problem is not me.

I like to stream from my PS3 for convenience but I guess since you guys can't even bother to make a properly working app for it I might as well just download the episodes and hook up my laptop to my TV. I've dealt with the stuttering, I've dealt with the random skips, but now I'm not even able to watch the dang shows.

I'm sorry to say this, but until you guys fix this you're definitely out of a subscriber
