The new crunchyroll front page doesn't show all of the simulcasts anymore... (and the news was moved to the bottom). Is this the same for everyone else?

It's much more inconvenient this way. To see if there's a new episode out of a show I'm watching that's now not on the front page, I have to go to the list of summer simulcasts and click on each individual show to check.

What's the deal, crunchyroll?

I've moved this to the Suggestions / Feedback forum, where it has company.

Whoa, the front page did change. Well, I kinda like it better now, It looks less clustered up and feels more organized.

Sounds like you aren't a person who regularly used the front page for News or to find shows and navigate the episodes though if you just noticed.

Not sure how 3 sections doing the same thing, 2 of them right next to each other, is organized.

I guess only have 12 of 47 Simulcasts now is less clustered up. Except 32 of those 47 shows are listed in single file (and doubly) on the right anyways, and the page length is more the same.

It may "look" cleaner. But if you used the old, complete main page Simulcast listing regularly, it's a fail in functionality.

Anyways, yeah, I know, probably beating a dead horse. Just seems all of this from changes no one really wanted or asked for.

The new layout is extremely impacting. Having to visit two pages (one for the news and site news) and another for simulcasts (latest updated series) is very inconvenient when it all used to be nicely placed on the home page.

News on top allowed me to check daily the new things going on in anime, when finished with that I looked at the simulcasts and see which episodes I haven't watched and pick one. Having only 12 simulcasts on that page makes no sense at all.

Edit: I also don't like the Featured Shows section on the top right where the daily deal used to be (now pushed down below it.) If they really want to improve the site I would like for them to completely revert everything they did this week and focus on completely remodeling the site using dynamic views that is customizable to each member. This would mean movable tiles (like those that exist in the queue) on the front page. This would also mean the ability to be able to remove series permanently from the site you never want to see again. I also work as a web developer so I know such things are completely possible (it may require some restructure, but that is what they should be focused on.)

You do have to visit more pages for the same functionality the old site offered. 12 simulcasts of 50 means you have to visit other pages (2 clicks) but this page doesn't have as much information without clicking on each show (so 38 more clicks) You now need to do 40 more clicks spending much more time for the same information that you used to get on a single page.

On Monday evening or Tuesday morning, try to find Baby Steps or Haikyu in the usual places. If things remain the same as they did this past week, they won't be anywhere on the main page, despite airing the day before..

wow, you must be very busy to care that much about saving 2 clicks worth of time. sorry for wasting your precious resource

I'm sorry. I thought we were talking about whether or not the new layout was better or worse, not trying to insult people. And while it may be of little consequence to you, here you are though admitting that it is a worse setup.

I would like to hear your explanation why you choose to use something unnecessarily worse.

btw, it's 2 clicks to drill down to every show. Not just to watch, but also any other time you want to review the episode comments and participate in discussion, and check in on progress of replies. Or maybe you don't watch much anime or use the site much. On a small touchscreen, where you also often have to enlarge to size the link too before pressing on it, all this, every single time, gets annoying, fast.

Again, what we are arguing here, is that the old page was BETTER. The old main page had great functionality that summarized all sorts of information in one location. That's gone. If you didn't notice, didn't care, or didn't use the old layout, that's fine; there are people who launch from the queue who probably don't understand this issue much either. Just like you probably sit through ads as a non-member and probably don't understand why waiting and clicking through multiple pages is a big deal. But for those where the main page was the primary launching off point, the new page is a step back. And there seems *no reason* for this regression, as the new page clips the Simulcasts listing, but is just as long as the old one.

Yeah. The variety aspect is kind of gone on the first page. It's like SHOW, SHOW, SHOW, SHOW, SHOW rather than, show, store, news, and forums.

Sure you can scroll down to get to the news and such, but it just doesn't seem to have the same punch as before. I mean I don't get to see that rapid sight for the deals of the day which was kind of fun to see or the trending news and thread. This one just seems too "You're here to watch. That's our deal." The idea of crunchyroll becoming that "One Stop Shop for your Anime Needs" just isn't there as much anymore.

Changes reverted? Except the simulcast section is gone entirely, maybe work is still in progress...

Edit: Nevermind... I think I know what's going on with a certain extension...

It's not ideal...and I really don't like doing it this way but if you really want to get rid of it quick and not wait around for any possible new layout or old layout options you can, if you have adblock for chrome (not sure if other browsers have it), you can right click the simulcast and featured shows sections and choose "block this ad" then just use the slider until the whole section goes away, move the slider twice for the simulcast and once for the featured shows sections, then click "block it". If you decide you want to undo it just click the adblock icon and choose "undo my blocks on this domain". Hopefully CR doesn't have an issue with this being done.

Be warned though that removing the featured shows will also remove the entire column from the shows page as well. I don't know what other pages it might have an effect on yet.
