As we know if you watch Sword Art 2 the vids are choppy and always freezing, I know its due to traffic and 100billion anime junkies want to watch the same thing at the same time... i get that..CR needs to update it horse drawn servers to accommodate for the demand...its like an airline saying mid flight "sorry we ran out of gas due to unexpected elephant being loaded as cargo, and would be ditching in the ocean. You can try to swim for it, maybe, tehee.."

a. the captain knew the elephant has a fat ass
b. the elephant booked its ticket a month in advance
c. gas prices during that time was relatively cheap
d. the plane was over charging passengers who are over 250lbs for double sits.

So question is why are we at this predicament when CR knows there would be an influx and they decided to wing it... -.-

I think the reason it's being bogged down has to do with the DRM on the media being streamed. There's a small pause at the beginning of the video stream that adds a placeholder and then a watermark with your username, then the video serves to you. I think the amount of requests have to go through the same database server as all the other videos and if it's a popular video then the requests are in bottleneck somewhere after the request is made. No matter how fast you make the database server the license management can only perform so many operations per second based in software, so fixing it is probably a much more difficult proposition for them than we can imagine.
