Because Tsunderes and Lemons are awesome.

Plus my real name reminds me of the outside world, don't wanna be reminded of that terrible place.

I usually feel very uncomfortable revealing my first name so I use my last name most of the time. I only reveal my first if I know and get along with that person very well.

I just use this name because it's something that's stuck to me for a very long time. John is a shortened version of my real name, John Boy has always been a nickname from both my parents and peers alike. The 769 is there because when I first made my account, I was really into Halo, and 7 was the number Bungie coveted. The 69 part was because many ID numbers that I've had (school, tickets, etc,) have always seemed to have the numbers 6 and 9 in them, right next to each other.

As I was really young back then, I didn't know that 69 had a sexual connotation. Oh well.

That being said, I really don't mind giving out my real name on places where I know that people might go looking for it. I always figured that I wasn't... Important enough to be afraid of giving it out. Besides, if I was talking to someone, people would just call me John regardless of which name they saw, and I would answer all the same.

TL/DR: Nicknames are cool.

Meh. People can call me Justin if they really want to and they can even use my last name as well if they feel like it. I only used Justanotherguy_2005 because it was just what I am used to using for signing up for things like e-mail. It keeps it simple for remembering login information. The other name I go by is Eichi and that is for a variety of reasons but in the end I really don't care what name people choose for me.

Because if i would get angry enough at someone on this forum i would send pizza`s and prostitutes to his or her house.
Its easy to find out where someone lives just by having their name.

My real name is kind of ugly sounding. I hate how long it is...

Some people just don't feel comfortable using their real names is all.

xD I don't want to be teased or recognized for mine.

Why use a screen name? Think about all of those people who didn't get their dream jobs, missed out on promotions, or were forced to resign because of something that was on their Facebook accounts. Facebook ruined their lives because their real names, and faces and their "funny" pictures or "funny" jokes got them in hot water, as their enemies and rivals took advantage of it and used those youthful moments in their lives against them in the real world.

What makes you think anyone would want to put their real names on the Internet, for their enemies and rivals to exploit? Think about MMORPG's. Some of you are gamers. Some of you are griefers, corps campers, and all around trolls. You make life miserable for other gamers, and you're not liked at all. You would not want your real name known to any of your victims, you know some crazy will try to take vengience on you in the real world.

Remember what happened when Blizzard tried to do "Real ID"? The whole gaming community went on an uproar. It got real ugly, real fast. Blizzard backed off. No one's tried that stupid idea since.
