Unfortunately...

...it wasn't anime though it was produced by Hanna Barbera in the U.S. from 1984 to 1985.

The original concept came from Tonka to compete with Transformers from what I understand.

I do have all 66 episodes though ^_~ all static filled i'm sure as its all on old VHS in a box buried
in a closet.

Why is this strictly for 21-up though?

Many of use younger have already seen the likes of Urusei Yatsura, Voltes V (Voltron was a cheap rip-off), Gundam 0079 (and what came after), Aura Battler Dubine, Space Runaway Ideon, Astro Boy, Neon Genesis Evangelion, Getter Robo, Mazinger, and so on...

I have to agree with you there anime is forever.. I watched plenty of 60s-70s anime and I'd definitely have to be older then 26 to have originally seen those but they're still part of my childhood.

LOL Yeah those things were near indestructable the original metal Tonka trucks were heavy as hell. My parents have an old video of me trying to sit in one and riding down a hill eventually ended up flying out of it into a road they still talk about how much it scared them to death I was 4 or 5 at the time... I hated the cheap plastic ones they started coming out with later though>_<

I'm only 17 and I still love the good old school stuff. Gundam 0079 is forever, Evangelion is forever, Ideon is forever, Getter and Mazinger are forever, Dubine is forever and so is the Romance series (even if they come off as weird).

Yeah.. and its just as over hyped now as it was in 93' I really have a hard time seeing what people liked so much about it. The animation and sound was fantastic but the rest of it was just full of mediocrity.

It did not do justice to the Ninpocho novels it was "loosely" based off either. I wonder if those have ever been translated and released in english some great stuff.
