Does anime count as old school if it was made in the '90s?

Unfortunately...

...it wasn't anime though it was produced by Hanna Barbera in the U.S. from 1984 to 1985.

The original concept came from Tonka to compete with Transformers from what I understand.

I do have all 66 episodes though ^_~ all static filled i'm sure as its all on old VHS in a box buried
in a closet.

OMG you remember TONKA? hehe for me it was the toys of mass destruction at that time
you can throw em burn em but you just can't seem to break em

LOL Yeah those things were near indestructable the original metal Tonka trucks were heavy as hell. My parents have an old video of me trying to sit in one and riding down a hill eventually ended up flying out of it into a road they still talk about how much it scared them to death I was 4 or 5 at the time... I hated the cheap plastic ones they started coming out with later though>_<

Yep! those metal Tonka's can put a holes on te walls hehe and if get into a fight w/ your siblings you're gonna see blood for sure nyahaha

Just thinking about that makes me want to carve my eyes out. The concept was fine and I was impressed by the fact it was created personally by Ted Turner. The writing and art could've used one hell of a overhaul though.

I remember Astroboy and Voltron. Voltron was like the forerunner for mechas that are build up from different parts.
