What's even sadder is that they actually had the balls to accuse Japan of stealing the idea with Voltes V and Golion.

Really, I've never watched voltes V or even heard of it. That must be old .

It is.. it came out in 1977 ran through into 1978 it was created by Tadao Nagahama who also did
Robo Combattler V, Daimos. He also directed a lot of the original Raideen if I remember right.

I thought that Voltes V and Raideen were done by Yoshiyuki Tomino.

NGE struck me as more than old school. It was great, but the animation was kinda lazy... Do you know where to get Rebuild?

This doesn't make much sense to me Voltron came out in 84'(Voltes 77', GoLion 82') and was also a Japanese production by Toei & Bandai. Also Voltron is known to be combination of the two I've never seen a denial of it maybe you can link me to some information? GoLion however was chopped up and mixed with other crap for the U.S. Voltron which had a completely different story line they didn't even translate it they "Rewrote" the story new dialogue/character names/plot etc... crap like that makes me sick to my stomach.

ha ha. Television was officially introduced to our country after 1980 so all I've seen are shows after that. Which they bothered to sell us. Which were old even then

They always do that to some of the good anime.

Crap, remember Case Closed? Robotech? G Gundam? Or even worse, Cardcaptors?

Heck, the name change is almost tolerable, almost. But then they also had to go and change the entire structure to the point that I can't even recognize it anymore.

And the travesties are not stopping on the old schools...

OMG that was Choji Ikkiman(1986) that was a funny series first time I think i've ever see anyone mention it online either .

Toei actually put up a website for it since they're showing reruns for it still on TV. http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/lineup/tv/ikkiman/
