This doesn't make much sense to me Voltron came out in 84'(Voltes 77', GoLion 82') and was also a Japanese production by Toei & Bandai. Also Voltron is known to be combination of the two I've never seen a denial of it maybe you can link me to some information? GoLion however was chopped up and mixed with other crap for the U.S. Voltron which had a completely different story line they didn't even translate it they "Rewrote" the story new dialogue/character names/plot etc... crap like that makes me sick to my stomach.

They always do that to some of the good anime.

Crap, remember Case Closed? Robotech? G Gundam? Or even worse, Cardcaptors?

Heck, the name change is almost tolerable, almost. But then they also had to go and change the entire structure to the point that I can't even recognize it anymore.

And the travesties are not stopping on the old schools...

I very rarely ever watch domestic US releases and if I do its by accident but I've heard about the nightmares regarding the butchered Escaflowne and Cardcaptor Sakura that aired on Fox. Especially where they cut up and mixed together different episodes of Esca to make a new story ~__~ if I could only find the person responsible for that crap late at night near a dark alley armed with bat.

The Escaflowne I watched was a sub, so I'm luckier than you. But I had the misfortune to see an episode of Cardcaptors, and it was horrible... What the hell did they do to Tomoyo? And Rika?

I don't remember if they ever screwed with Evangelion though.

Well I watched Escaflowne on TV..in japan in its original form when I came back to the states I only saw one episode of the butchered crap years later.. only to hear even more about it from some friends its a shame stuff like that happens.

"Classics" today like Rurouni Kenshin and Evangelion are new compared to the ones we watched in the old days. Voltron (80s) actually came after Voltes V (70s).
