Let me know if a thread like this one exist or not.
Thanks a bunches.

Explain your opinion in great detail.

What makes a person qualified to be a genius? Is it possible for anyone to train themselves to become a genius or is it something your born with? If we could tap into the minds of a genius could we understand what makes them smarter than most average people. So my question is what exactly makes one person a genius? I simply asked this because i'm curious.

I believe you can be a genius in different subjects. For example you can be a genius in playing a sport like hockey for example. You might be a prodigy at the sport by just being naturally better than the average person at it. While you can be a genius at school subjects like math as well, just for some reason that one person is able to understand every math problem. I think most genius are born with the ability to just be naturally better than others however i do believe hard work can get you just as far.

Thought and Intellect: What makes a person a genius is their relative and amount of thought on a subject, which usually gives them the characteristic of being intellectually superior to the average person. In my mind the amount of critical and deep thinking is what makes somebody a genius.\

Performance and Skill: Another type of genius are the ones who are able to perform better than the rest in a type of physical skill. These people are geniuses in their own right and are still superior to the average person. In this case, the amount and quality of training or enduring would make you a genius here.

Course you could be naturally gifted and has the ability to solve or perform better without working for it, in which case is one of the exceptions to my definition of genius.

What I mean by "subject" is although a person may put deep thinking into one thing, it doesn't necessarily mean that he or she puts that same amount in another topic. He or she may be a genius in math and science, but could be a complete dunce in another topic like art or sports, etc.

Genius is someone who can understand new situation and come up with better plan or idea faster then normal people. I don't believe pro's(professional) can be called genius if what they doing is repetitive

An IQ which is significantly greater than the average person.

Or, you can simply be really good at something/ multiple things.

In my opinion, I don't think one's mental facilities are necessarily better than the other. I think people are just different.

I love your threads qualeshia.

Some people argue that Da Vinci had multiplicity - often confused with ADD/ADHD. Find that information about him here: http://www.confidenceclub.ie/news/leonardo-da-vinci-appeared-to-suffer-from-adhd-how-much-more-could-he-have-achieved-in-his-lifetime/

One thing I do know from personal experience - when you study many different subjects, you start to see correlations between them that seem to be correlations between everything else. This kind of "interdisciplinary studies on steroids" provides many insights not gained upon studying just one or two subjects.

Then again, my cousin when he was 18 asked me "how I knew so much." I told him "I have no social life. "

Then, there are some people whose brains are genuinely wired differently. I point out Akiane Kramarik for this: http://www.akiane.com/about

Akiane's brain for some reason appears to have never developed the crude symbol system every child's brain develops that temporarily (if we fix it) screws up our ability to draw. She was doing realistic drawings at 3 years old!

Then you have Joe Girard, in the Guinness book of records for selling cars (I believe he still holds it). He became a "genius car seller" if you will, because "If I didn't sell cars, my family didn't eat." Period.

Thank you very much.

Oh my gosh! I suffer from ADHD along with bipolar too yet I found those really interesting. Especially the one with Da Vinci which I didn't even know that was the case.
