What kind of gaming addict and collector are you (if you collect)?
What types of games and genres do you overdose or underdose on?
I'm addicted to retro and modern rpgs, as well as hidden gems such Kya a ps2 platformer.
My other addictions are rhythm games such as rhythm heaven. The only sports game doses I've
had are Mario Sports and Snes NBA Jam. Normal sports titles don't agree with me.
As a collector I hope to own hidden gems, popular titles, and decent titles from around the world to indulge.
I don't want to keep terrible games from any genre, such as Pit Fighter snes, and alien syndrome on the wii.
Lastly I try to keep my doses organized and I always fail which is awesome because I play any games that
deserve to be played.
Also I watch others for a terrible experience now. I tried to enjoy the Harry Potter games.

I'm primarily a Nintendo collector, but I've come into owning older, discontinued systems in more recent times such as the Dreamcast, Genesis / Mega Drive, and PlayStation 2. I'm open to any type of game, but my personal favorites are probably side-scrolling platformers and puzzle games.

I have been playing Nintendo and PlayStation games throughout the years but I mostly stick to PlayStation the most. I still have my old consoles like the SNES, NES, PS One, PS2 Gamecube, Xbox, and N64. My favorite types of games are Fighting, Platformers, RPGS, Racing and Action-Adventure.

My favorite series for gaming are always going to be the Drgaon Ball Z fighting games, Kingdom Hearts, Super Mario, Need for Speed and GTA and also The Legend of Zelda.

If you like RPGs, have you ever played Secret of Mana or EarthBound for the Super Nintendo?

No I never play any of those games from Super Nintendo. I never got into RPGs around that time of the consoles because I was still little at the time and mostly never grew up playing RPGs as well. I mostly played a lot of random games but not RPGs.

I started to play RPGs around the PS2 years and over. I still wouldn't mine trying those games out when I have a chance.

The best way to experience those games would be to buy a Wii U. It really is a great system once you start playing with it. EarthBound and Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga can both be downloaded from the Nintendo eShop on the Wii U, while some other titles like Secret of Mana and Chrono Trigger can be downloaded on the Wii U's Wii Mode. Others like Harvest Moon are available on either side. All's you need is a Wii U system, a Wii Remote, a Classic Controller, a Nintendo eShop Prepaid Card, a Wii Points Card, and an internet connection. I know that it sounds expensive like that, but truthfully, that's probably cheaper than getting the actual EarthBound and Harvest Moon game paks. Ha ha.

Secret of Mana is one of my favourite games of all time. Also try Chrono Trigger (the art is by the dude that did DBZ)!

OT: I mostly collect Zelda stuff, I have mint boxed copies of all the games bar one (the original!) as well as the collectors books, the LE consoles and cases etc.

Also a few RPGs like SoM, Chrono Trigger, Suikoden I & II, FF6 and FF7. All displayed really prettily in a big glass cabinet behind me!

I don't necessarily collect games but I do keep the games I buy. After years and years of trading games in for new games I had enough and decided to keep the games I buy since I always ended up regretting trading. I do get collector editions every once in a while though :]

As for what I play most.... I would have to say RPG. It wasn't my first genre but it was what got me to be the gamer I am today. I've always played jrpgs exclusively until this last decade. That is when I discovered Western RPGs like Elder Scrolls, Fallout, Dragon Age, Mass Effect and among many more that satisfied a craving I never knew I had lol.

As to what I rarely play I would say FPS. I can't stand them. I do like First Person games, I just dislike First Person Shooters. Very rarely do I come across one that I like. (I am Liking Destiny so far though)

I collect whatever games I like. No specific genre that I overdose on but I guess action/adventure would be on the top, followed by JRPG. I don't play first person shooters and very rarely buy western games.

The games I like tend to be obscure Japanese games so they become quite hard to find. When I take interest in a Japanese game, no matter how bad it is to everyone else, I must get it in my collection.

I pretty much play and collect fighting games for PSX, PS2, PS3, and Dreamcast. Whenever I see a fighting game, I feel the urge to get one even if it's rare (bought a $67 copy of Project Justice for DC for my 2009 X-mas present). When looking for video games, the genre also comes first to my mind.

I frequently neglect FPS, since the hype has died down on me since MW2.

Well, I used to be a collector. But truth is I do not have anymore space to do this, I have all Nintendo consoles and some games for example.
Now I just a player, I still have a soul of a collector but this is for the consoles only, for the games I prefer digital now, even though I buy more consoles than I need.

I used to collect old game systems, but then realized that I never played on them so it was like, "What's the point?"
Now I just stick to Nintendo as a whole. :3 I love Nintendo games and consoles oh so much! ♥ Can't wait for the Amiibo to come out. I'm gonna wind up collecting them, I know.

I tend to collect Playstation games. I even try to make sure the games I purchase are Black label over Greatest Hits. I got into it because awhile back I sold a number of my PS1 games that I soon regretted doing so I went about trying to find them again along with anything else that's rare or in good condition.

Yes, I realize I can purchase most of these titles off of PSN (and I've have for a few) but it just doesn't compare to the value in my view of being able to hold the game in your hands.

Agreed. Official re-releases of older games through the likes of PSN and Nintendo's Virtual Console service are great, but there's a different feeling to playing the actual game and holding it in your hand than there is to getting a digital copy and playing it on your newer system.
