I went like 40 kph over with everyone else on the highway, but I got a ticket. Not that I'm complaining anyway, it was just a couple points and 15,000円.

To bad you can only pick one in the polls because I have 4 out of 5. But you missed one have you ever out ran the police? yes for me. I do not recommend doing this major stress-er during an afterwords.

No, however let me offer a bit of advice, never drive sleepy. I drove sleepy once. Still don't know how I didn't get in an accident after driving for so long on the wrong side of the road.

I think I've gotten 3 speeding tickets in my life. One ticket was from speeding through Iowa trying to get someplace before they closed. The cop was real cool even though I was from out of state. I didn't have to go to court for it and the MPH I was over according to the ticket was way less than how fast I knew I was driving (well over 100 in a 65 MPH zone).

These are occupational hazards if you drive commercially. I got out of a ticket for running a stop sign somewhere on a hill in southeastern Washington (state). I had pulled into the rest area to check my brakes on tractor and trailer. After adjusting slack adjusters and getting dirty in the process I went back, made the "on duty, not driving" log entry, geared on out back to the main road. As I approached the stop sign from the rest area I looked both ways, saw no one either direction, then coasted through the signage. About that time a state highway patrolman crested the hill the rest area was situated on and visibly saw me commit a misdemeanor. On came his lights. I got pulled over.

He commented that what I did may cost me. I got pissed and commented back that this will be the last time I pull my big rig over to ever check my brakes for safe downhill traveling in the state of Washington. From this day forward I'll just roll down these hills at speed and if my brakes fade and I become a runaway rig well.......fine!! Yeah, I saved a gear shift by not coming to a complete stop but there wasn't anyone either direction so I cheated and you caught me.

He laughed at my logic, smiled, just gave me a warning instead of a $45 ticket (1977).

I've gotten a few speeding tickets in my lifetime. Possibly you might also in the future if you choose to drive vicariously.
