we all have our tastes and opinions, and to each their own, but i do have a query:
"Is there an anime that surprises you people say they don't like?"
only here in the crunchyroll forums have i ever seen any one say they do not like cowboy bebop. every fan i know offline likes it.

Isn't that also the definition of the internet? lol

Beyond the boundary. I marathoned that anime one day after it finished and I loved it, just to later realize that half the internet hates it, and the other half does not care about it at all.

True. I only frequent these forums so I've been less exposed to internet hate and complaining. The weekly dose I get just from Naruto threads is enough for me.

Also, I really enjoyed Beyond the Boundary.

I loved Beyond the Boundary, too! It seemed like a lot of people enjoyed it when it first came out, but then it just got a shit ton of hate.

Kill la Kill. I understand how all the ecchi stuff can have the opposite effect (i.e., turning people off), but I thought it was funny, cool, and highly entertaining (the show itself, not the ecchi stuff), with some excellent characters, twists, and self-aware jokes. I get that it's not for everybody, but I figured more people would like it as much as I do, and more often than not I see outright hatred for it. Like, seething, ranting disgust.

No Game No Life, I can see why some people would hate it from the inconsistent characters and ecchi, but I liked it and some people LOVED it.

Full Metal Alchemist, I'm still not quite sure how that happened along with Cowboy Bebop

Not really

I mean, it's just not possible for a show to appeal to everyone. Each show has an audience it appeals to and an audience that it doesn't appeal to at all.

But if I had to pick one, I suppose I might say Guilty Crown.

I basically watched that show in a void without hearing anyone's opinions on it. When I did finally get around to seeing what others had to say about it, I was taken aback by how many people disliked it. I personally thought it would be rather popular. It reminded me of Code Geass in a lot of ways.

I understand their reasoning though. As I said, a show can't appeal to everybody. Nevertheless, I suppose I misjudged how the show would be received.

Every bodies got there own opinion. Someone once said, "There's someone in this world, who hates your favorite game" which is true for that and anything in general. There isn't anything out there that everyone can agree on! So I don't personally get shocked to find out someone doesn't have the same interests as me, its expected.

I have heard some pretty flaky reasoning behind not liking a certain series though.. but either way, I still enjoy what I like.

Huge fan of Sword Art Online, not a fan of Attack on Titan. Often I meet people who are just the opposite. Sao just had the stuff i dig in a show, and Aot did not. Nothing more i can say about it. Different strokes for different folks. But apparently a lot of people hate SAO, i saw a review for SAO2 and it was like the reviewer hated sao with every inch of his entire being. People will be people.
