Attack on Titan and Kill la kill, I'm sure there are legitimate reasons to dislike them but most of the time it just seems like this:

Nothing shocks me on the internet anymore. I will say, however, that I almost never truly believe anyone actually dislikes cheesecake, and I feel the same way about Gintama and Steins;Gate. They're clearly not people, or not honest people. My favorite show is probably the Monogatari series, but I can understand it not being to everyone's taste. But those two shows seem to have a bit of everything, or so I think. I'm quite unable to truly comprehend the lack of Gintama in another person's life -- my flaws as a human, I suppose.

I haven't seen them yet, but there are probably some people out there who don't like either Magi, Code Geass or Clannad. Which I think is absurd though. They are epic. =)

That been said, we all have our own taste of Anime, so guess it's no use forcing people to like it.

Not really any I've been surprised to hear the majority didn't like. As Seekerperson7 said, a show can't appeal to everybody.
I have been constantly shocked to hear during personal conversations that someone didn't like something I thought they would, but that's only because I know their taste fairly well. It's impossible to know "everyone's" taste.

It doesn't matter what others think, it only matters if you liked it. That's not to say that it's not fun to talk about it with other people who liked it (whatever the "it" might have been).

I think I am the only one to like Planetes. I sing its praises as a very, very good hard science show to the crowds and zilch. Nothing. Nada. You can find the Wikipedia article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planetes

Lately, I haven't been shocked to see an anime I waited every week to air not liked. Like SAO and Nisekoi. So nowadays I just stay away from the comment sections of popular stuff. Don't need people killing my excitement

The reason I believe that there is no such thing as a "perfect anime" is because everyone has different taste and an audience's reaction to a show is just as important for critiquing it as the actual story. Not everyone is going to like some shows even though they have come close such as Cowboy Bebop, Fullmetal Alchemist and Attack on Titan (3 of my favorite shows) and I'm not suprised to hear someone didn't like it, although it usually falls under the line of:

Kill la Kill. I understand how all the ecchi stuff can have the opposite effect (i.e., turning people off), but I thought it was funny, cool, and highly entertaining (the show itself, not the ecchi stuff), with some excellent characters, twists, and self-aware jokes. I get that it's not for everybody, but I figured more people would like it as much as I do, and more often than not I see outright hatred for it. Like, seething, ranting disgust.

Yeah the hate towards Kill la Kill is because of the ecchi it has, and I totally get it. I remember the first time I read the sumary for it I though it was interesting so I decided to watch the preview, halfway through it I closed the video because of all the ecchi it had, Ryuko being halfnaked fighting with a big damn scissor blade was definitely not someting worth my time, that's what I though. A couple of days later as I was talking with a friend he started telling me how much he loved the show and explained to me why it was like that, So yeah, after I got home and started watching the first episode I realized that it was amazing and everything.

If you can find it I think you'll really like how it turns out. Yuri's back story is really moving.
