Yeah, a direct-to-internet series doesn't actually HAVE to have episodes the same length like a series that is broadcast on TV ...

... but it sure does freak out the Obsessive Compulsives who have to classify series according to episode length to have a series where different episodes have different lengths.

I'm guessing the decision to make the episodes at least 12 minutes long is a compromise, for those who have one mental category for episodes under 10 minutes and another for episodes over 10 minutes.

Anybody whining about the episode lengths probably has zero knowledge of RT's history, that'd be my guess.

Seems likely ... one aspect of getting exposure in new market segments is being exposed to people who don't know where you came from and have a different set of expectations for their series.
