Dragonball and One Piece

Nothing against shounen seies in general, I'll happily watch plenty of others but I can't bear those two. Maybe it's the art style, I don't really know

Clannad and Mushi-Shi were so boring to me it was difficult to get through the first episodes. Perhaps I just have to try watching more, but they literally make me want to go to sleep.
I also don't like Elfen Lied at all, even though other people seem to like it. I didn't like any of the characters, and it kind of annoyed me.

Well...

Madoka Magica- Really couldn't stand the hype around this show a while back, but that calmed down once shows that were actually bad got praised for even worse reasons.

Kill la Kill- If it was recognized by a majority as a show you watch and enjoy without worrying about it making sense then i wouldn't be so critical about it, but people really try to find intellectual reasoning for it's themes and claim it has a "deeper meaning". That's like me watching Manyuu Hikenchou and saying it's deeper then simply severing breasts from others.

No Game No Life- The absolute worse culprit i have even come across in my long years of watching anime. I have never encountered a show more trivial and annoying that was loved this much. It's so unimpressive, it hurts. It's just fanservice and feigned intellect with annoying characters.

Nisekoi- This show is horrible. Does everyone or the majority love it though? Hmmm...i don't know about that one, but nonetheless, it is a horrible harem show.

Really? ;o Nisekoi is the only harem ive seen and i found it extremely enjoyable. What would you say is a good harem anime?

Also, never understood the hype over the Big Three, but that's an entirely different forum on its own

Attack on Titan.

Found it to be boring, couldn't catch my interest. I've seen one too many things with titans in my lifetime.

I could give you good ones, but i'll try not to mix in other genres.

Amagami SS, MM!, No-Rin, The World God Only Knows, Mayo Chiki!, Mashiroiro Symphony, Hoshizora e Kakeru Hashi...just some decent ones.

NGNL. It's nothing special. There was really no plot, and it had a terrible ending. Also loli, seriously? There was nothing amazing about it, I feel like the people who gave it 10s haven't seen any other anime.

seriously? Evangelion just because its from the 90s? so basically you're saying that YuYu Hakusho, Evangelion, Dragon Ball, Captain Tsubasa, Saint Seiya, Ruroini Kenshin, Ranma 1/2, Berserk or Love Hina, were not appealing?

They were appealing in the 90's.

But too many people keep them raised on pedestals as if nothing in the world could possibly be better than them even now.

I also watch anime for the visuals, and while 90's shows were good in the 90's, looking at them now in 2014, for me, is just a visual eyesore.

Most of them, really. My early exposure to anime was with OAVs, and I continue to prefer those that are limited run and focused toward an older audience, or the rare art-house movie that pops up. Nearly all the most popular series right now are Saturday Morning cartoon type that are too juvenile and too predictable.

Akame Ga Kill. Feels like Bleach for people who think they are too good for Bleach. Then again I don't like a lot of shonen these days period.

I can't think of anything but then I tend to watch things that I expect to like and I'm only occasionally wrong (I usually do a bit of research at least and I seem to be good at reading between the lines on descriptions).

I wouldn't complain anyway, you can't like everything (well, maybe you could but most people don't).

It can be difficult to understand other people's tastes but I think accepting that and accepting that others will have different tastes is a good idea (it's not like it'd hurt you). That said, I like quite a few things that are being made these days so maybe it's easier when you're part of a larger target audience (rather than having more niche tastes, within the niche that anime already is).

I do find it amusing when people say things like "how can you like that show?" then mention things that I like about the show as if they're bad things. It's funny how weird and varied we humans are.
