So, here's how this is going to go down. Post an anime that you think has a lot of similarities with an anime that came before, during, or even after it. Then, state some similar characters, plot points, or tropes between the two.

For me, I'll go with One Piece, and Fairy Tail.
First of all, we have some similar characters. An energetic, goofy, and powerful protagonist. (Luffy and Natsu) Then, an old mentor with red hair, who is almost impossibly powerful, as well as a father figure to the main character. (Shanks and Gildarts.) Happy and Chopper, two cute and adorable sidekicks who animals, and often regarded as one of the weakest in their general team.

Both use a typical shounen plot formation of arcs, each which give a problem which is resolved at the end of a number of episodes, with antagonists being introduced, and 50% of the time, defeated. The arcs usually add up to some overall story contribution, it be small or large. Then, the next arc begins.

Both involve: A group of 7 antagonists who are often associated together. (Shikibukai, and Oracion Seis).
A similar art style.
Both are known for the protagonist having some sort of thing they want to find, but take a long time to achieve it. (Natsu finding Dragneel, Luffy finding one piece.)

Now, I'm not saying that Fairy Tail is a clone of One Piece, just that they have some similarities. What are some other animes that are like another? Please, be respectful, and most of all, no flame wars.

Mobile Suit Gundam Seed and Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion.

Both stories focuses on war between two forces.
GS has Coordinators against Naturals while CG has Britannians against the Japanese.

Both stories have two good childhood friends fighting against each other.
Athrun against Kira and Lelouch against Suzaku.

Both stories have mecha robots that are incredibly strong.
GS has Gundams while GC has Knightmares.

Both shows have a pink haired girl who hold strong ideals against war and also play romantic interest to one of the main characters.
CS has Lacus Clyne and her romantic interest Kira Yamato while CG has Euphemia li Britannia and her romantic interest Suzaku Kururugi.

Both have a tomboy from a privilege family who is a fighter.
GS has Cagalli while CG has Kallen.

Both have strong military factions which the characters are apart of.
GS has ZAFT while CG has Black Knights.

That is all I can think of.

Kannazuki no Miko and Puella Magi Madoka Magica.

Himeko and Chikane are similar to Madoka and Homura in terms of personality.

Not just that, the tragic nature is similar in both shows.

K-On! and Sora no Woto

Both shows are about cute girls doing music, and the designs almost look like carbon copies of each other. Yui and Kanata are practically mirror images of each other that it's scary to think about it.

Sky Girls and Strike Witches

Both are shows about girls who join a special branch of the military to pilot aerial combat devices in order to fight a non-human enemy that turns out to be more than it seems.

Also, even though they have fairly interesting plots and decent action, they're both looked down upon for their "fanservicy" attire (or lack of attire). In other words, both are fairly good shows that are heavily criticized by people that didn't give them a fair chance.

Also, I blame both of their creators for this, since I feel like both would be far better received if they just gave the girls some more clothes and focused less on fanservice.
