Have you ever just randomly cosplayed with items lying around your home?

Well have you? Like for example... Today I got super bored and tried to do some Mikasa cosplay with items I found around the house. So I found a red scare, did my make up and hair to do a quick cosplay. I want to know if any of you have ever done that? and if so, share a picture of your thrown together cosplay or just tell us about it.

Well, once I got this new TV. it was really big, and it came in this box. I was like "Oh my god, I can fit in this."

So, essentially, I was doing a Metal Gear Solid cosplay all afternoon.

I have never cosplayed before since I don't have the time, money, or talent to create a costume. Plus, I prefer to wear clothes that I can move around in without worrying about getting my cosplay ruined. That said, I do create props from stuff lying around my home, but I don't wear any costumes.

The closest, I've come to cosplaying was when I took a plastic light saber from the Star Wars franchise, took some cardboard, and wrapped them together with copious amounts of duct tape to resemble Cloud's "buster sword" from Final Fantasy VII. That was years back though.

Sat in a box, felt like Snake.

Put a bin on my head, felt like a dalek.

What a fun idea!

I've never done this (haven't done cosplay anywhere really).

(BTW, I moved this over to Cosplay Corner where it seemed especially appropriate.)

I technically have.. but that's probably misleading to the intent of your post

Since I enjoy cosplay, I have lots of parts and leftover materials from various cosplays laying around, giving me an unusual base to work from. Some of my prop work uses items you might find nearby - cardboard, PVC pipes, etc - which is probably closer to what you mean, but still, likely uncommon, and I wouldn't have supplies of them laying around if not for my cosplay.

I've definitely taken stuff and combined it into a unique cosplay that I thought would look interesting, especially for Halloween projects. A cloak here, a wig there, some leather straps, quick sword build, maybe a mask of some type.. it's a lot of fun! But I'm a lot less likely to do that for specific characters, other than reusing stuff where possible.
