I'm losing more hope for humanity in this thread...

Some people can really get their hatred take over their mind huh?

Regardless, I'm done here, hate on FB or whatever but a retribution will be held or actually happening right now because really, look at what you people are doing, rejecting the society itself. That way of thinking won't get you anywhere, it won't.

There's no more hope for anime community Most of people here are simply reclusive who loves to be the victim of the society when clearly, they are the ones attacking the society itself and of course rejecting any offers from society.

I only use it to keep in contact with people who I used to be close to in school. All my friends I know personally or have forged a strong friendship with on an online community (UT2K4). I rarely post anything, I mainly PM people when I have something to say to them. FB sucks otherwise!

I don't have a Facebook and probably never will because I don't see the point in having one and I could care less. I'm also to lazy to even try and make an account. I understand why people have them, but I just don't see why I should have one. I use my CR account as my Facebook(in a way) and I have a Google+ which I only use to look at pictures the anime community on there posted(I didn't want a Google+, but since it comes with making a Google account I just have it), so why do I need another social network profile? At the most if I had a Facebook account it would just collect dust(like my Google+)while CR and YouTube gets all the attention. If I want to stay in touch with friends/family I either e-mail them or call them. It's just a matter of what I would actually use and if I don't see myself using it I won't make an account.

If you cant appreciate What sites like FB, or Crunchyroll really do, then idk what to say to you. You enjoy these forums right? its pretty social imo like FB, just doesn't look as cool.

I see posts like " i dont see the point in fb, its stupid, ill never use that crap ". And then i think what is fb, a place to add friends to a list online. Wait CR does that too!

Edit: People saying they hate the things posted on FB... remove them and make better friends lol. seriously.

And On CR you cant avoid anything anyone says cause its a public forum.

I think it is over-rated, especially as a website for socializing with people. Let me explain why.

I have 164 friends on Facebook. That seems like a lot of friends right? Except very rarely do my so-called friends on Facebook ever reply back to the messages in the chatbox I send to them. Even when I had over 600 friends on my previous Facebook account, people RARELY responded to my chatbox messages. So chances are very few of my so-called friends on Facebook actually know me.

If you want to socialize with people online in a fast and fun manner, you are better off posting on a really popular online forum like Reddit, 4chan, ign.com or gamespot. You can get much faster and funner replies on a forum like that than Facebook.

In fact, about the only thing Facebook is good for is showing off how glamorous your life style is. And occasionally chatting with a few friends that live far, far away from you, but that's about it. Having several hundred (and even several thousand) friends on Facebook is POINTLESS, and it does not make for a better social life online. If you want a good social life, just post on a popular online forum or chatroom. Facebook is NOT a good place for an online social life.

You just said exactly the same problems I have with Facebook, or really any other social networking service. In my experience, they're all the same, Crunchyroll included.

Stop adding random people. I have around 60 on mine, and even that's too many.

I just don't get it. Why would you add someone and then never talk to them? Whenever someone does that I question their basic intelligence. "Gee, you seem pretty cool. Let me add you so I can never talk to you, ever." What, is there some sort of osmosis going on between profile pictures? You can't even call it networking for professional reasons, because those people actually let you know in the beginning. What could you possibly gain by having a "stable" of people you never talk to?

It annoys me because I like talking to people, and I like contributing to their lives in some positive way. But I don't have time to chase dozens or, god forbid, hundreds of them down, when I wasn't the one who initiated contact in the first place.

If I held the same standards here, I'd have to delete all my Crunchyroll people. Then I'd probably just quit Crunchyroll, so I don't.

I will say one thing though. On extremely rare occasions, someone will pop up and say "It's been forever! How are you!?" Maybe I leave the door open for those, I dunno.

I use it to watch funny videos and for funny pictures. And to make fun of people posting about their lame life situations.

Just being honest

I deleted my account a 3 or 4 years ago, it just doesn't provide anything of value to me.

I don't need Mark Zuckerwhatever selling every facet of my life to corporations all over the planet for whatever purpose they have in mind. I don't need perspective employers scouring Facebook for details about my life so they can hold it over me for reasons why I don't get promoted or given a pay raise, or why they want me to resign. I don't need to have a half billion people I don't know sticking their noses into my business. That's why I don't use it.

Before you say, "That's why they have privacy features." Let me remind you that over the last five years, Zuckerwhatever has changed the 'Privacy Policy' AND arbitrarily changed the privacy features, AND reset all of the privacy settings that people had in place, back to their default "Open To The Whole Damned World" settings, AND made it harder to figure out where the settings were located, AND made them harder to figure out how to use the newer settings than the previous set of privacy features (during which time, he datamined the hell out of everyone on Facebook and sold all of their info's) - at least three times - without telling anyone, ahead of time, that he was gonna do it.

Now, even if you have privacy settings enabled, if you had stuff that was made public before, then it's still floating out there in the Internet waiting for a professional Google-er to find and sell to your boss, or future boss, who will decide to hire or not hire, promote or not promote, give a raise or not, based on what was on your Facebook.

That's why I don't use it.

I like Facebook, it used to be much more interesting when I was in high school and people would post their drama on it. I mostly use it to keep in touch with my relatives and friends in other countries.
