How do I talk about Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei!? After watching the second episode, I have to admit, there's a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth. I made the face Illya did through the episode about five different times and felt the same way.

I feel you, Illya.

Now, I should backtrack. When Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! is good, it really is enjoyable. Of course, it's not really anything like its predecessors (Fate/stay night and Fate/Zero), but, well, it is a magical girl show. Still, the elements that it does pull from its canon are really interesting. To cite the first series, they use the servant classes from the original show as enemies, who, when defeated by the girls, gains them a card that can let them boost their powers. This was a really cool plot that made the first series fresh.

The second season, however, seems to be focusing more of the slice-of-life elements than the battles. Now, while I don't have any issue with slice-of-life, it translates in this case to 'gross lolicon'. That's my main issue with Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei!; I just don't want to see ten-year-olds make-out. (Can we make them fourteen? For real, I'd feel so much less gross watching this if they were just aged up a little...)

When it's innocent, it's totally ok. I love yuri more than the average person, and things like Miyu's blatant crush on Illya, I'm fine with. Even in their little group of friends (four other girls, not including the main two), there's a lot of yuri subtext... and again, it's not a big deal. My issue comes up with the sexual harassment and naked (never totally naked, of course, but regardless), ten-year-olds. While it's always been a... let's say 'questionable' series, even in the beginning, season two is just pushing it even further over the edge. What made me side-eye a little bit in season one is making me cover my face up in season two, and hope desperately that they'll just get back to the flashy fight scenes.

Yeah, yeah, let's do this.

As I said before, when Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! is good, it really is enjoyable. The animation and style is beautiful; fun, bright colors, and a lot of movement in the fighting scenes. That's where this anime really gains its worth. I found myself watching fights and thinking they were genuinely cool, with the transformations and neat touches like the designs cast by spells. The cast is a lot of fun, too. Seeing old characters like Rin Tohsaka have a role is nice, and Miyu and Illya are absolutely adorable. Illya's backstory is different in this as opposed to other Fate shows, and that's interesting to watch.

I think Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! is a fascinating edition to the Fate catalog. If you're a fan of either of the other series, it's a fun watch. While some of its content is definitely iffy, if you can ignore that, it's worth the watch. Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! airs Wednesdays at 1:30, EDT!

Holy shit, you're a disgusting pedophile. They are 2D lolis, not children. Completely different beings. Lolis are sexy and there's nothing wrong with them making out.
You are a shame to all M&A fans. Prisma Ilya never hid that it's about lolis and has ecchi elements. Why did you even pick up the show when it isn't for your prejudiced self?

LOL, you might want to look up the weight and definition of 'prejudice' before you call me that. I watched the show because I love the Fate universe, and I'm a fan of Ilya, Irisviel, and other characters. The animation is beautiful, as I said, and I like the fight scenes. If your defense to my post is 'lolis are sexy and there's nothing wrong with them making out', and not even giving me a reason, fun fact: it's not a very good counterargument.

Please, give me one line where I said 'if you like lolis, you're a pedophile in real life and a gross disgusting pervert'. Used I tenses. Also known as I do not like loli. I've been an anime fan for ten years, I'm incredibly aware of the difference between fantasy and reality. Never said I'm judging you if you like loli: said it's not my thing.

For the record: just because someone doesn't like something you do, doesn't mean they're ~prejudice~ and wrong!
