Well dang, I guess I didn't get my meta-ending, where the camera zooms out from the final title screen to reveal that it's on another TV screen being watched by the aged-up Tamers cast. Oh well, what can you do.

What's the next Digimon anime going to be?

A more serious series kind of like Tamers, Savers, and tri. with character development between the protagonists and their digimon partner. As well as story situations that would test them.

Even though Digimon Universe: AppliMonster was a bit childish, but it raises issues like technological singularity and artificial intelligence, and how dangerous technology is used unwisely.

So something along the line of the two above.

I hope the next anime would be another continuation of Digimon Adventure, which would not just include the 02 kids but most of the characters in the Digimon multiverse, as well as answer most of the questions about the Dark Ocean. (This is pure speculation)

Well Digimon Adventure tri. ended.

It was a bittersweet ending if you ask me, well the crisis is over and the characters have returned to their normal lives.

But the world have become wary of digimon, the fate of Nishijima and Himekawa were a bit ???, the Digidestined have made a hard choice to save the world.

But at the end, the characters look towards their future in order to move forward and build a brighter path.

So I guess we're getting more anime from this franchise? That ending suggests a continuation...

As for the 6th movie, I have mixed thoughts on it overall. Once again, it gave me a feeling of nostolgia but beyond that, I can't say the writing is great especially with the characterization. Seeing Daemon being mentioned is an interesting part to note though near the end. I don't think they resolved a major subplot from the second Digimon Adventure series so if they ever do a continuation, they should focus on him.

hate the ending... hate how they resolve the problem...
the generation on digimon adventure 2 didn't even have a single scene where they do anything
it was a very very very big cliffhanger so I hate it and I'm pretty sure a lot of people will hate it too..

but still thanks for the anime it was one of the things that made my childhood so it really made me happy watching it.

and I hope the next season would be the continuation of the digimon adventure tri so the unsatisfying feeling from the
cliffhanger would be resolved.
some doesn't want it to be a part of digimon adventure anymore and wants it to be savers or tamers but I am pretty sure
that when the continuation of the digimon adventure tri is to be released even though those guys complain and say a lot
of bad things about digimon adventure tri they would be one of the people who would be the first to watch it.

I felt tri created more questions than resolving any of the previous issues of Adventure and 02. I did like the conviction Taichi and Yamato had the end, as well as the character development for rest of the original team... Except for Hikari, I feel she went a step back from her approach to violent Digimon in 02.

The rest of the story was unnecessary fluff. Hackmon and Koushiro double talk no jutsu about the workings of the Real World and Digital World was just a mess. Yes, yes the world is ending. Yes, yes once again Koushiro is programming against the clock. And more leech Gennai faces... Sigh. I can't even...

And no 02 appearance!? I was so hoping for an epic battle with Omnimon and Imperialdramon leading the charge. Ugh, come in Toei.

I actually really liked those side plots. Things like Hackman talking to Mei's father and Izzy trying to find a new solution helped immensely with the world building in Tri's final act. To show that the whole world really is at stake and it's not just an isolated battle in Tokyo Bay.

Besides, you can tell the animators had a lot of fun with Gennai this movie. His faces just kept getting crazier and crazier with each appearance, in his own way Gennai was easily the most expressive character on screen.

Just a small but very important cameo. Wizardmon silently lead Kari to Gatomon and a vital clue to achieving victory in the final battle.

Yeah, it kind of felt like there was a lack of feels at the end for me. Tai's return to the group was lack-luster as though no one really cared he was in danger after seeing he survived. I mean, I guess there was supposed to be that whole macho-silence thing between Matt and Tai (which was kind of weak), and then the first lines out of his sister's mouth is that she's going to hate him (because he chooses saving the lives of 7.4 billion people over one rampaging digimon). A little surprising since she was earlier so upset that she helped create the problem at the end.

Plus, there were so many open-ended questions and/or plot holes.

1. Like, is Himekawa dead, I guess? We just kind of left her

2. Wouldn't Meicoomon just revive in the nursery / Village of Beginnings as an egg like Patamon did when he died in the original series? (in which case, even more so it would have made sense for Tai to decide to kill her to save the world because he probably knew she wouldn't technically die)

3. And what was up with the 2nd Gen digi-destined? I was never really as fond of that group as the first, but it didn't make sense why this anime seemed to be so secretive by not showing their faces. I thought it was a licensing thing, except that "Ken" kept making appearances, so that wasn't it. And didn't anyone wonder where they had just "disappeared" to for so many months? No one but the shady, secret organization knew they had vanished? Not even their parents were reaching out--no faces on the news?

4. Why is there an evil Gennai duplicate? And why was he so fixated on transforming into Ken specifically? Heck, what was the point in him being able to transform at all? When Tai "died," I was pretty certain they were hinting that this guy was going to transform into Tai and cause some trouble, but no. He just likes being Ken or Gennai while he observes the chaos and randomly tries to blow up Tai and his teacher. And apparently he likes licking people, too (poor Sora).

5. And who is Joe's girlfriend?
