---The King's Banquet---

Aldaris followed the shy, bashful lord to one of the tables and asked from the servants to serve him some wine a hearty meal. As the servants did their duty, his two companions sat by his side, watching their surrounding and listening to the conversations around them. When he heard the prince's question, he smiled as he lightly touched the amulet that was openly displayed for all to see. "It is a wonderful piece, Prince Varius. I can tell it is made from the finest materials and its enchantments are strong to hold a powerful spirit. I thank you for this. When you come and visit my humble home in the South, I would give you a grand tour and maybe sample the finer things in life that the South can offer you."

He noticed the mutterings of the other nobles. Such jealousy frothing from their lips, such unsightly behavior. Fools. All they could do is talk; their bites are so utterly pathetic just like their bark. He smirked slightly as an idea popped within his mind. He leaned in closer to the prince as he spoke about their travels and the sights of the city. As he did so, he whispered to the prince, "Can you hear the jealousy of these fools, little prince? Such craven individuals would never hold a candle over righteous, honest men like us."

"ohh, it's nothing at all...but I'll definitely come to the south, my Lord Aldaris...well, at least i'm joining one of my trading caravans when traveling through your lands.." the prince said sheepishly..but as the merchant lord whispers about his surroundings, he does noticed a glance and looks from some of the nobles or even lightly gossips between them..Prince Varius is now fidgeting himself, while lowering his head. He doesn't like the attention from those snobbish lords, ever. Even in the back home,he silently whispers to Aldaris.."Yes, i can see that..i'm actually used by this treatment even back at my land.., they ever always suspicious of me, but when dealing in front of them, they always trying to get in my shoes; i mean they seems nice, but the're like to pretend they're kind and respect me...at all..that's why i'm always alone inside my chambers.."

When he realized he was saying that, he starts to panic and begin to nervous.."I-i-i'm sorry, i've never tell anyone about this.." stammered the prince, as he tries to breath while sipping his wine..his hands were trembling, and as soon Acteon quickly takes the goblet Varius hold before he spills something..

---The King's Banquet---

Aldaris was taken by surprise with the prince's attitude and disposition. Seeing him tremble prompted him to hold the prince's arm with a firm but gentle grip. "Hey, deep breaths, Prince Varius. Deep breaths." He whispered to the prince, making sure that no one would notice the prince's moment of weakness. With his other hand, he rubbed the poor man's back in order to ease the tension he was feeling. For a man who holds power such as the prince before him, he has experienced so much loneliness. It was a sad existence in his opinion. To be surrounded by two-faced individuals who would never hesitate to stab you in the back in a moment's notice, it was hellish in his opinion. As he gazed upon the prince before him, he couldn't help but think of the prince as a fragile piece of glass when surrounded by these vipers.

"Are you alright, Varius? Take your time to collect yourself..." he whispered softly to the prince before him.

Varius is trying to grip on himself, although Lord Aldaris gently lessen the stiff that tension the prince. Acteon is trying to comfort his beloved companion by holding tightly his lord's hand and assured him .."Lord Aldaris is right my liege..close your eyes and take a slow breathe.." Avynil the adviser is now concerned about his lord's deep depression..his lord is always like in this vulnerable state..since he was a young boy...since his late father, who was his beloved friend passed away..the young boy's happiness begin to deteriorate when he became Regent; and he knows why..Avynil then speaks silently at the merchant lord.."Forgive my prince's sudden disposition, Lord Aldaris..my prince had never showed any expressions when comes to people..you're the one's who manage to open his heart a little, but..i cannot expect he was bursting out and fill his emotions this deep...''

Prince Varius finally regain himself, but still gripping Acteon's hand tightly as ever..he looks at Lord Aldaris with a pale smile, but lowering his eyes, trying not to look face to face.."Thank you, my Lord Aldaris..i'm feeling better now.." Varius then turns to his companion and commander.."...and you too, Acteon, as always.." the commander gives a small smile, yet still concerned about his lord.

○ cataleya scarlette

Feeling the adrenaline rush through her veins and the sweeping, gust of wind through her hair, a gleeful smile appeared softly on the young woman's lips. The young brunette let out a cheerful laugh, as her most-trusted steed galloped through the meadows on the outskirts of the Asraean City. Prior to her ride, she recieved an invitation to the King's Banquet to celebrate and honor his birthday. However, she couldn't bring herself to present herself just yet, especially when she just got back a few days ago from her tiresome mission. To release her stress before she appeared too "tired" in front of the King, the Royal families, and the many Lords, Ladies that were invited, Cataleya knew she had to present herself honorably, even if she didn't want to go.

As she finished her ride, Tano trotted back towards the stables. He was content with being able to stretch his muscles and work off the crinks in his shoulders and muscles. Before leaving, Cataleya brushed, washed, and fed her precious friend."Mi alma, I'm afraid I have to leave you now." With a slight neigh, Tano snorted before nuzzling against her cheeks. Cataleya and Tano had grown up together, being that the two understood each other the most. There isn't a day she wished to leave his side and for him as well. To her, Tano was beautiful as he was charming, with a light silver and a white coat mixing together. He has slightly black and grey hair from his roots while the ends or tips of his ends were light brown. Smiling softly, Cataleya allowed a small moment to pass between the two before she left him for a short while.

Dressed in her best attire, Cataleya allowed her long, wavy, brunette hair to dangle down her back as she walked. Her hair swished to the side every once in awhile, but it never bothered her or those around her. Keeping up her guard, Cataelya's azure eyes glanced around at her surroundings, making sure nothing suspicious was occurring. Her shoes clicked and clacked here and there, since she wore two inch heels to keep her height at an even five feet. Although she wasn't part of the first or second regiment, she still made it her own personal duty to protect the people and those who were important, even if it means protecting them in this "disguise" as she likes to call it. Many of them know her by "Scarlette" as she didn't like giving out her name, even in school, she signed up as "Scarlette". The city was alive and in a huge uproar as many steamers, decorations, and festivities were going on in the city. Cataleya was in awe of such a sight, it had been a while since the city was so livened, especially with other foreigners coming into the city.

As the gates were opened for citizens to enter, Cataleya took her time going to the palace, looking around at the many Milita guards around the marketplaces and areas. They were doing their job, perhaps, she should ask to join in with them to be a look out. But, nevertheless, she should pay her respects to the King first as she entered the banquet in the palace. Looking around, there were many Lords and Ladies as well as some Royals around the room. Cataleya wondered if she had been dressed appropriately, but then again, it wasn't every day she wore a dress for such an occasion. She had wore a dress that was befitting of the occasion, but also roomy enough for her if she ever needed to engage in a hassle or strike. The dress was able to hide small throwing daggers, if needed, but of course, she had to walk through inspection, remembering to show her emblem that proved she was part of the Milita.

Wanting to avoid any gazes or attention, Cataleya stayed in the far background of the banquet near the food table, but not too close or not too far, quite used to not being noticed as so much talked to by others. However, she didn't mind, considering she was here to scope out the banquet, making sure everything was okay as well as to just greet the King. Catalya had observed two princes, it seemed, across the room as well as two Ladies that sat near them. Perhaps they accompanied one of the princes, seeing their flashy attires, she already knew which of the princes' it was and where they reigned from. But, the other prince, was always a mystery and that was the big hint. The Northern and Southern princes getting along? What fate! The gossips were constant as she found herself biting her lip from speaking out against those nosy, busybodies. Turning her attention away from such nuisance, to the far left of her, Cataleya observed a male, recognizing his attire immediately as he was part of the Crusader of the Goddess. But, the girl he was with, she hadn't recognize, something about her screamed. . odd, however she couldn't put her finger on it. Regardless, Cataleya decided not to eavesdrop on their conversation as she continued observing the room more, being aware of the girl, but also wanting to feel at least comfortable in her bones and attire.

PRINCESS VIVIENNE

Silence struck the princess as she entered the banquet room of the Palace. She rarely left the Palace, but always attended the events. Her long, mid back raven-esque hair moved behind her in whichever way the cool air deemed fit. Her light grey eyes looked as though they could see into the soul of anyone they laid upon. This might have been the most mysterious Princess of the Kingdom. Her magic was less than light, and she never made an effort to describe it as such either. This brought an ounce of controversy wherever she walked, "Is it evil? Witchcraft? Why did the King take her in?"

"Vivienne, what are you thinking about?" The dark entity "Luz" walked beside her, towering over her in height with deep, hollowing eyes that didnt seem to smile in the crooked way his blue lips did.
"Something's here."
The princess' black dress swayed against her skin and low to the floor, catching the air in waves of blue light. Her eyes scanned the room as she made her way to stand against a beautiful marble pillar.
Spirits are lurking, but they're not what i'm looking for. Faded shadows making like projections as they glide and attatch to the living. Attatch to objects, move away from the light, move towards the light, make faces of horror, deceit, angst... some of lighter heart, others...
"I'm here." Luz commented with a chuckle, eyeing those naive to the spirits and entities that lingered.
"You always are, Luz. However, this one is.." She took out a mirror compact, looking at her reflection, then the reflection of anyone behind her.
"Not darker than I? Vivienne.. hm?" Luz leaned against the pillar, eyeing Vivienne with great anticipation of her answer.
Vivienne was too deep in thought now, to entertain the dark entity she so willingly kept at her side-- for such a dark spirit, he was quite dependant on the princess; always wanting her approval to feed his already big ego. Nobody could see him except Vivienne, not a single person- unless they had a spiritual affinity. To others, it may look as though Vivienne is mumbling to herself. In actuality, she's mumbling to the dark spirit with an attatchment to the stone in her bracelet.

Miranda stared at the man approaching her, slightly dazed from the brilliance of room. She then furrowed her eyebrows, slowly recognizing the uniform he was wearing. It was different from what she remembered, but his build, the air around him, and how he presented himself made it clear that he was a soldier, a crusader knight of the Goddess. She scowled. She never liked that Goddess. Nothing good ever came out from associating with her and her little cult. So Miranda didn't want to talk to him. In fact, she didn't want to talk to anybody. All she wanted to do was pay her respects to the king and disappear. After all, birthday celebrations were the same no matter where you went. But before she could escape, the man spoke to her.

Miranda wore her people smile, one she'd flash to look as if she wasn't bored of life. She glanced at the tray of food in her hand, then back at the soldier. "No, I don't. But it tastes pretty expensive."

*Mauricio smiled back as a gesture of kindness before replying to her response.*

Expensive you say? Must taste bland then *he chuckled*. Why don't you put the tray over there and grab a glass of wine or whatever your preference in beverage is? If anyone asks, you tell them I ordered you to have fun, so that you won't get in trouble. Honestly, I find it silly that there only forcing you to hold that tray.

*As the celebration continued, an unknown man dressed in flashy black formal armor appeared. He was unusually pale but other then that, he looked normal. The fur on his armor was that of a mana bear. The ruby on his chest and the inscribed golden runes found throughout his armor suggested he came from the east of continent. His boradsword was a very exaggerated but beautiful weapon. It was made from ebony steel. It's sheath was red on the hilt, you could see more ruby like stones and golden runes. You could tell the blade would have runes on it as well. The left palm of stranger's hand was pressed on top of his swords hilt anx his right hand was gripping on a slim walking cane. The cane itself had many scratches on it but it's material still looked impressive. The man had a smile on his face as said hi to anyone near him.*

PRINCESS VIVIENNE

Vivienne started to move again, eyes lingering through the crowd. "Vivienne! A man from the east, look how.. how he smiles at everyone. But look, at how contrasting his--" Luz was cut off in the middle of his speech when Vivienne's eyes met the man's. Lingering on him was darkness and death. Her eyes widened, as he greeted her the way he seemed to have greeted the others. And Instead of speaking, she slowly looked at him up and down. From his cane all the way up to his hair. Then his aura once more, and she almost forgot how to speak. "H-Hello." She said, before flipping her dark hair over her shoulder and turning to descend back into the crowd. She couldn't be concerned with how nice he was dressed or how handsome he was. She didn't want to get caught up in whatever his intent was.

*In that moment, as he watched the princesses eyes widen, he knew she must've realised something was off about him. "Interesting" he thought to himself. But was this just one of those "gut feelings" people have from time to time, or was her mana involved with this? Hmmm, coming tp this little party may prove fruitful if the latter was the case. The young little princess was now his main interest. He would sneakingly watch her every move from across the room, no matter how many people or objects came in between him and her. As he watched her, he walked over to where Prince Varius and Lord Aldaris were located and he made a bow to them while smiling*

Greeting's Lord Aldaris. Forgive me Prince Varius, but could you grant an up and coming merchant the pleasure of asking you a quick question?

○ cataleya scarlette

As Cataleya gaze went around the room, she wondered where she should venture off to, at least, to keep herself entertained. Hearing whispers and pointings towards her, Cataleya concealed her slight annoyance as she looked around for any children that were playing around. Surprisingly, they all seemed quite well-mannered, even the ones she had recognized. Should she go and speak to them? Or should she wait? How long had it been since she was invited to participate in a banquet? But, before she could make a decision, two presences appeared in the room as Cataleya lifted up her head, wondering where the attention of the crowd was now.

Hearing the gossip and the slight noises, Cataleya's gaze landed on the dark-haired Princess. She was quite as mysterious as others have said to be. Not much was known about her besides the fact that many questioned her magic, however, Cataleya was intrigued by it, wondering what exactly stemmed from it. It wasn't dark, yet it wasn't light. Regardless, watching the princess' graceful movements as the dress flowed with her, she had definitely taken the attention of the ballroom. Well, that is, until another presence came into view. However, like the girl she barely recognized that was near the food table with the male that had the insignia of the Goddess, his power radiated with each step he took. She felt. . malice of some sort or darkness, which reminded her of the Prince of the North that was across the room from her. But, it was obvious most of the people in this room seemed to be quite powerful, if not, different in certain ways. Regardless, the ones he greeted seemed to look up with him in well. . slight awe? Was it? Perhaps his attire? Whatever it was, Cataleya had to admit, there were definitely a lot of interesting individuals at the banquet that kept showing up more and more. It seemed the Princess had gone a different way as the other had gone to speak to the princes. His clothes was definitely a sight to look at. She wondered what was going to happen during her time here as a slight adrenaline rush coursed through her.

Both lords noticed a man come up in front of them, trying to get attention, Prince Varius however starts lowering his eyes; not to expose himself to the man face to face. Prince Varius squeaks "y-yes, you may....and urm...may i know who you are first?"

*The man stood back up, making a little spin trick with his cane before bringing it back down to the ground with awesome speed. Before the cane touched the grounded, he halted his speed, so that it would make a load slam on the ground.*

Thank you Prince Varius and my apologies for not introducing my self to you, Lord Varius and to the rest of your amazing looking group. My name is Bo Zhi, I just started my own trading company in the far east about 4 and a half moons ago. So about, hmmm? 126 days ago. I used to be a mercenary before that, but after a nasty little battle with another mercenary company, I discovered there patrol routes. I took all the money I saved up after exploring these unknown routes and made created my trading company which is simply called Zhi. I hired my former brothers in arms for protection and I started to trade food, teaching service's and books to some unknown locals in exchange for the gorgeous ebony steel you see before you. I could go on about me, but I don't want to bored all of you. Anyways, Prince Varius, what is the name of that gorgeous Princess over there?

PRINCESS VIVIENNE

Vivienne looked over her shoulder to see the tall, exquisitely dressed man with the dark aura she'd encountered minutes ago speaking to the Princes. She turned forward, before walking to a table of drinks and asking for something on ice. It looked to have been tea or something dark.
"New fan, Vivienne? I must say, I'm jealous." Luz leaned against the table, taking advantage of his invisability to the standard eye.
"I don't have fans.. just the curious." She said quietly under her breath, before turning away from the table and taking a sip. She looked around, smiling every so often to greet those that caught her eye.

An imposing presence sent shivers down her spine as she engaged in a conversation with a servant of the Goddess, causing the alarm in her head to sound off. Without appearing rude, she quickly glimpsed around the room to find the person who's dark aura it belonged to. Immediately, her red eyes spotted a large man covered in armor, a cane in one hand and a sword in the other. A slight smirk appeared across her face. Oh? she thought, amused. When the king extended his birthday invitation to everyone, he really means everyone. She never thought she'd see someone like him at a banquet. His attendance sparked Miranda's curiosity. It nearly made her want to approach him, but she held back. Too lazy to put in the effort to excuse herself from the man in front of her. Too lazy to move from her spot.

Since her attention was focused on a guest, she took the opportunity to glance around the room, familiarizing herself with the faces of the other attendees. Vivienne Swan, Varius Strallvania, Cateleya Scarlett, and Aldaris, whose surname Miranda had no qualms to remember. What an interesting bunch of kids, she thought before returning her attention back to the soldier in front of her.

"Wine? No thanks, I've had enough when I arrived. And who said anything about forcing? This is all for me," she told him. For when things start to pick up, she added silently. Perhaps she'd stay behind a little longer than expected. Just to see how tonight's event would unfold.
