*Mauricio began to laugh at her answer.*

You just made my day, I honestly thought you were forced to hold that tray for everyone due to the really confused look you had in your face.

*He turned around to scan the room again, noticing new faces. Princess Vivienne was by her lonesome self. Cataleya Scarlette was in the room as well, he wondered if she worked with any of his former brothers and sisters at arms. As well as some odd fellow of average height talking with the Prince.*

My name is Mauricio by the way, what's your name?

Prince Varius finally avert his eyes and looking straight at the talkative man, but then glancing at the princess whom which the man pointed at.."urmm...i don't know....do i have to know?, Avynil, who's that princess over there..?" frowning the prince.

Avynil the adviser spokes up "That is Princess Vivienne, my prince.."

Prince Varius only nods slowly.."Ohh..., well... there you go.." he gives the Bo Zhi a shy grin.

PRINCESS VIVIENNE

Vivienne eyed the group from across the room, before putting her drink down and quickly exitting out if an open set of double-doors accompanied by door-men. Luz followed behind, silently.
Looking behind, she couldn't see anyone following her, and into the main hallway she slowed to a hault. There was a large, oval-shaped mirror. She walked to it, exhaling deeply and running her fingers through her hair. "Did you see him? Speaking to the Princes like he wasn't... he wasn't.." Luz sighed, rolling his eyes and folding his arms. "Yes. He seems interested in you."
Vivienne shook her head, He's just curious. "I have to go back in." She turned away from the mirror, walking back into the room slowly as her light grey eyes scanned the room once more to see how close they were in proximity. A guard joined her at her side to ask if things were alright, and surprisingly she waved him away. "I just needed to breathe."

---The King's Banquet: Meetings and Sightings---

Aldaris noticed the guests grew in number as the hour has passed. He took note of the majority that continued to gossip and trade tales of intrigue around the, the sight of men drinking merrily at one of the tables, and the arrival of certain individuals of of note and repute. He spotted a young woman bearing the insignia of the Militia by the corner, her eyes were roaming around the place, watching for signs of trouble. He noticed a raven haired lass, who by her attire would be a princess, nervously walked about the hall, accompanied by her guard. He also noticed a man, a young merchant at that, approach both him and Prince Varius. He felt his contracted spirits react to multiple presence within the hall. 'Interesting, it appears there are people who have contracted to spirits of repute. Caution might be the rule of the day from here on out.'

The man who approached them, Bo Zhi, is an interesting individual. A budding merchant from the east with a tale to tell about Ebony Steel. Ebony Steel, a good metal for crafting fine weapons and armor, can only be found by traders originating from the East. Personally, he finds no value in this metal; a sentiment shared by the blacksmiths of his land, due to their use of Akhran Bronze and Prestahn Steel; two metals synthesized by his Sufis, magicians and alchemists, which is exclusively used by his Janissary Corps and he himself. He finds Ebony Steel an interesting material for trade to other merchants instead, being able to acquire much more rarer materials with this metal. "The fabled Ebony Steel of the East. A strong metal, but not as strong as the Akhran Bronze and Prestahn Steel my Sufis synthesized for myself and my bodyguards. You are a budding merchant of the land, have you entered an enterprise lately? Or have you begun a monopoly on certain products like the North for their silver and ore?" He was curious whether or not this lad truly embraced the profession. For a merchant would always strive for the best deals and the largest of rewards, after all.

After his musing, he Zhi asked about the raven haired princess. It seems he fancies the young lady this much if he has asked of her person. "A fine eye you have Bo Zhi. A lady such as her would make any man green with envy. Ah, where are my manners, I am Lord Aldaris Za'firo Multhaz al-Kehth; and these are my companions Ashara, my most trusted aide, and Hasna my lovely sorceress. It is also a pleasure to meet a fellow man of the coin." he said in a boisterous and upbeat voice.

Both Ashara and Hasna bowed slightly as their lord introduced them. "Charmed." Ashara said in response as she regally sat by her lord's side.

"Honored to meet you, little merchant." Hasna greeted with a mischievous grin as her eyes glowed with power, like her gaze was searching deep within the spirit of the young merchant.

*Bo smiled getting the answer he was looking for.*

With an adviser like Avynil, you will never run out of answers Prince Varius. Thank you, to the both of you. So that is Princess Vivienne, I never would have thought she would be the fairest flower of any field. After all, I'm positive Avynil can tell you how nasty some of the rumor's regarding her have been as of late. Mind you, I never believed them.

*As Bo finished his sentence to both Prince Varius and his loyal adviser, Bo quickly turned his attention to Lord Aldaris as he began to reply to him. He carefully listened to everything he said.*

It's my pleasure Ladies, hope you both are enjoying yourselves. Before I answer Lord Aldaris, I must say, you have wonderful looking guest's with you. As of now, I have a little Monopoly going on with the Ebony steel trade. There are still some secrets that the local villege is teaching my Blacksmiths. As of now, the creations that this recipe can make will remain a secret until my Blacksmiths are ready to produce there new armaments in there own shops to sell to the public. I'm sure they will improve it in there own way as well. You can think of us as a small guild. I'm the glue that keeps everything together, making sure everyone grows fat in there pockets from this alliance. As for who has the better steel, you'll see in the near future how intense the competition is going to become. Especially when it comes to military contracts.

*As Bo finished answering Lord Aldaris question, he watched as young Vivienne left the banquet hall. He was about to leave without saying good bye in order to give chase, but then saw she made a quick return.*

It was nice meeting you all, I hope to talk to you all very soon. I'm going to make my rounds around the party and meet everyone. Have fun.

*He smiled at them as he left them, but inside his head, he couldn't stand being so nice for this long. This was not the 1st time he played this character, as Bo was not lying. As Bo made his rounds around the room, he kept watching Vivienne in secret. Maybe he could gain knowledge about her abilities if he talked to that militia woman in the fine dress. She obviously was of status if she was able to attend the kings birthday as a guest and not as a patrol woman. He began to walk towards her, waving at Princess Vivienne as he got closer to the militia woman.*

PRINCESS VIVIENNE

Vivienne raised a hand to wave back at the man. Before the banquet, she'd never seen or met him. He wasn't so much as familiar, so it was odd that he was in attendance today. Putting her hand back down at her side, she felt like he'd been getting closer and closer to her. His aura kept getting darker, and the smile he put on for others when he spoke didn't match. "If you want, I can.." "Luz.. I want you to send a chill that way." It looked as though she were speaking to herself, especially since nobody else could see the dark spirit standing beside her.
That's when Vivienne began walking, in the direction of the peculiar man and the Militia woman. As she and the spirit passed by them swiftly, Luz changed the temperature drastically cooler for a few seconds before returning to Vivienne's side, who didn't so much as turn around as she walked. She then began making conversation with a guard, as to not look too suspicious. Keep an eye on him, Luz. Tell me what he does.

"Miranda," she said, plopping a piece of food in her mouth. "And I'm anything but confused."

Behind Mauricio, she saw the sinful man engage in a conversation with Aldaris and Varius. And once he excused himself, she couldn't help but notice the man's gaze locked onto the kingdom's very own princess. His fixation towards the dark-haired woman was hidden well, but couldn't fool Miranda. She lived long enough to understand the intent behind people's eyes. Interesting, she thought. What would a man of his caliber want with a mere princess? Her body hungered for answers as feelings she hadn't felt in centuries started to reemerge: anticipation, excitement, and wonder. Surely, he'd be more interesting to be around than the servant of religion in front of her. However, she wouldn't dare draw attention to herself, especially to him. That was the last thing she needed at an event like this. Therefore, she continued her conversation with Mauricio, hoping to disguise herself as a simple attendee.

"I see you work for that woman." She tried to say as amicable as possible, trying to conceal her distaste for the Goddess as she analyzed his uniform. "I hope she isn't giving you any hardships." .

*As Bo walked towards the militia woman, he felt an unusual chill. This kind of feeling was very familiar to him. He always felt this kind of chill in areas where spirits and other odd entities roam around. His smile turned into a killers smirk for only a quick second. He thought to himself, "So that's your little trick. I can't wait confront you."*

*Surprised by her question, Mauricio tried to best answer it without making her feel uneasy.*

Nice to meet you Miranda. Not at all, I only joined so I could combat taboo mana users. I fought many during my time in the Adventurers guild. I felt they were a growing problem outside the kingdom so I became a Crusader knight of the Goddess. I don't know if you ever seen taboo mana, because you look very young, though your eye's so much experience. But I just hate that taboo users always try there best to control and shape someone or something into something nature did not intend. Like this one battle, this one mage used blood mana to force a dragon into his own control, and causing it's body to mutate into something not resembling a dragon. In fact, the poor things scales could no longer cover it's expanded body. Truly horrifying. That was how I gained the scar running across my face.

*Mauricio then realized he might've said too much and may have made Miranda feel uneasy.*

---The King's Banquet: Meetings and Sightings---

Aldaris couldn't help the smirk from forming on his face, his companions too were smirking as the young merchant left their presence to pursue the princess by approaching the Militia woman. His smirk fell to that of a cruel sneer and his contracted spirits agitated. An upstart has shown himself and must be very presumptuous to go against a larger player like himself. "Well, little merchant, you really are new to the business. The better steel? My dear little merchant, military contracts are not the only place to test the strength and value of steel." His voice was hard as the steel his company possess. He didn't care if Prince Varius heard him. This little merchant truly is new to the business if he does not know of the hidden war between merchant guilds and economic factions.

These hidden wars are what drives the fluctuation in the economy. He was sure Prince Varius has total domination in the North just like his ironclad grip on the South's commercial policies and economic status. Everyone knows merchant companies maintain their dominance by employing Para-Military organizations or bodies to act as bodyguards...and soldiers against rival guilds or companies. But unlike other merchant companies, he, as a landed lord, employ his own military to act as both caravan guards and enforcers of his will in the mercantile field. With the introduction of the military to this hidden conflict, the game has changed drastically in his, and those of equal agenda and opportunity, favor. A more pragmatic conflict, a more subtle conflict, a more bloody conflict.

He dropped his sneer and employed a neutral face. He turned to Prince Varius and softly spoke, "It appears we have an upstart on our hands, my little prince. I suggest you consolidate your holdings in the North just as I will consolidate mine in the South. Fortify our positions, secure the trade routes, and equip our forces with better gear to handle this...anomaly. Maybe when we are done fortifying our position, we could slowly worm our way in his market shares and holdings in the East. We split profits at 50-50, if I have to put a price on it, my dear prince. Also a mutual pact could be made between us, for the betterment of all...of course." he said with a small playful smile that never reached his eyes. Aldaris was really territorial when it came to business. The disruption of the status quo really brought out this side of him, no matter the occasion or incident. He just hopes no one would be suspicious and hear him plot the inconvenience of another man of the coin; and that the Northern prince would be amicable to his idea.

He noticed Ashara looking at the young merchant, Bo Zhi, approach the Militia woman. He saw Ashara narrowed his eyes before she whispered, "This man is too ambitious for his own good; arrogant even, if I am being honest. He has plans, my sweet lord. Plans that may involve the princess over there," she said as she pointed towards the raven haired princess before continuing, "I can never trust someone like him, my lord. I can feel something is off about him and that we must be extremely vigilant in the near future."

Aldaris nodded his head slightly as his gaze turned to Bo Zhi and to the Princess Vivienne. Something indeed was amiss and he has to keep a closer eye on people and an ear to the ground.

PRINCESS VIVIENNE

"He noticed it. That's one evil grin he's got, too.." Luz told Vivienne.
Vivienne was tired of the chase now, and wanted to see what he would do. But he wasn't making any moves other than eyeing her from across the room, and she couldn't have any fun with that. "Nice talking to you." She said low to the guard, as Luz spoke into her ear.

She turned away, and as soon as she looked at the mysterious man once more, Luz was already close to him again "Just a tug." He tugged on a lock of the man's hair, before shifting back to Vivienne's side. Vivienne looked the other way.

"Vivienne, his hair is almost as soft as yours." Luz cackled. Vivienne scoffed to herself, before beginning to walk again. "I want to dance, Luz."

Prince Varius wonders of what the little merchant spoke of Princess Vivienne's pasts and gossips was about, but still he sighs in boredom. While he sipping again his own wine, Varius looks down at the wine-fulled goblet he holds, and he thinks for a while; "this banquet is going forever..this crowd is making me a headache..i need a chamber....to be alone....reading with my Grimoire..."

the Northern Prince is looking around the courtroom , trying to avert his eyes looking the face's of those gossiping, whispering, politicking lords..the adviser sence his lord's discomfort and says warmly, trying to uphold a conversation.."My prince, do you know how many precious mines we discovered back then at the province?.."

Varius glance at his adviser and frowns, "I don't know..what is this about?...please Avynil, i don't interested in estate affairs right now.." But still the adviser keeps on the conversation, "the Principality now owns 28 silver mines, 31 gold mines and nine gem seams..how about it?.." Avynil smirks..

The prince suddenly interest now and looks at his adviser, his eyes were wide.."that much?..ho-how is the gold deposits were discovered more then our silvers?.." curious the prince..Avynil speaks with more intelligence and with a grin, "Lets just say... our ore mines had to be turned up into something else..". Varius left eyebrow went high.."Really?...wow..i really didn't know that.."

*As soon as Bo felt the tug, he allowed it to guide him towards Vivienne as she walked pass him. As she walked on, Bo began to talk. Leaning against his cane that held with his right hand with some swagger *

Hello Princess Vivienne. My name is Bo Zhi. I've been quite interested in making your acquaintance since our 1st run in. Why don't we talk for a bit as we dance?

*He extended his left hand out towards her*

---The King's Banquet: Meetings and Sightings---

Aldaris' eyes widdened in surprise. The North has grown in wealth due to the newly discovered mines. He smiled softly hearing that his friend has been blessed by the land. "It appears a congratulations are in order, Prince Varius. Your prosperity grows with the riches of the land you own. May there be many more blessings in your near future, Prince Varius."

His mind wandered to his own land's prosperity. With the trade of enchanted steel and certain precious metals, he bore witness to the rise of the South. A once desolate and lawless land, now a hub of commerce and wealth. Now he's hearing something similar happen to the North. Oh, such a wondrous time to be alive.

His gaze then turned to the princess and Bo Zhi. It appears he has made contact with the girl. He, as a lord of the King, must ensure nothing untoward happen to the young miss. Now, how would this play out and how would he intervene if necessary?

Miranda pressed her lips into a thin line, unaffected by his story. She felt nothing hearing the unfortunate demise of one of her people, though she guessed she couldn't outright call them her people since she detached herself from the Dragon race centuries ago when she left that dark place on her own. In the time she'd wandered on her own, she heard countless stories about the capture and fall of dragons. It was a normal phenomenon. After all, dragons were legendary creatures. So it was inevitable that something like that would happen. Hunters sought them out for their scales, having been sold for a high price. Adventurers sought their heads for individuals seeking their deaths. There were even some idiots who sought to tame a dragon.

"That's horrible! Why would someone do that?" she asked, feigning disgust. "And did you say dragon? You mean they really exist?"

Then she noticed that the evil man had made contact with the dear princess. It seems things are unfolding quite marvelously, she swooned in her head.

He did it because me and my group had him cornered. All we were trying to do was ask him for any clues for our contract and he started to run. *He then chuckled at her 2nd question* There are many creatures still alive, but they are hiding in plain sight. Dragon's are quite intelligent actually. Smarter then humans really.

*He knew she kept looking at the man in ebony armor, he didn't see what was so impressive about him.*

Do you know him?
