Synopsis

In a world constantly haunted by demonic predators known as "Youma", the everyday life of humans is full of fear and suspicion, as these monsters easily blend into human society to hunt their hapless prey. However, in this world, there is also a mysterious organization, employing half-human, half-Youma warriors to effectively track down and kill the demons. Called "silver eyed witches" or "Claymores" after the huge Claymore swords they carry, these female warriors are eyed with suspicion and distrust by most because of their inhuman powers.

But there are many currents flowing in the shadows, from the mysterious machinations of the Claymore "Organization" and the twisted ambitions of the powerful "Abyssal Ones" to the hopes and desires of each Claymore warrior. This story follows the fate of Clare, one of the Claymore operatives as she sails deeper and deeper down the currents of conspiracies and revenge.

Loving it, chapter 153 was exciting. Its times like this I wish it wasn't monthly, but that makes it all the more worthwhile.

Side note: A reboot of the Anime would be appreciated, Claymore is one of the best series of it's genre.

Wouldn't mind a faithful to the manga reboot. I hope its manga conclusion isn't too hasty.

I just bought volumes 2-24 and showed up on my door step, about a week ago. Right Stuff just now got volume 1 in, and is reserved from my order. Once I get that, I'll start reading up on it. I think volume 25 comes out in November, and by the time that releases, I should have gotten caught up. My brother watched the anime, and said it was really good. I haven't watched it yet, despite it sitting on my shelf for a while now.

Oh I'm so sad it's ending. I have all the volumes released in English so far and have loved it every step of the way. The only gripe I have with the series is that in the beginning, awakened beings seemed to be very individual and special things, and now they're just meh. Like everyone's just awakened and the same lol.

I'm with ya Witless. I really enjoy the series as well as the atmosphere when it first started out. Like meeting different Claymores and hearing about them, working with them on missions and all that. It was a great way to introduce so many different things and I wish it spent more time following Claire as a solitary character for a little while longer. However, I'm not complaining about the direction it has taken as I loved reading how Claire's generation has interacted with the latest one.

I'm not that upset that we won't be seeing more about the mainland war and the dragons. This is a good ending which you don't always get. We can get the mainland story in a spin-off if need be, with new characters. Because it would be kind of depressing if Claire/Teresa went over there and then Teresa wasn't the boss of bossess.

Finally read Vol 27 yesterday. Man. Great ending! Got a little sappy at some points but in a good way. That reveal about Priscilla was an unexpected twist.

Two stand-outs for me were that face of young Clare smiling and Clare's embarrassed expression. Priceless!
