There are not many shows out there that leave me in tears. But there is one show that's just sad to watch that I couldn't hold back my tears, and that is Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, the show about what could happen when the big earthquake strikes Tokyo. The show has a depressing atmosphere where things are falling and people are dying all over. But it is what happens in the second-to-last episode is traumatizing and that sets the stage for a tear-jerking finale to end it, and it gets extremely emotional and leaves a lasting impact.

I can't get through Grave of the Fireflies without crying. I just can't do it. There is also one particular part of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood which really gets to me:

While we're at it, let's throw Puella Magi Madoka Magica into the mix:

Also, there's part of Sailor Moon Sailor Stars which gets to me:

Finally, there's Black Butler:

That ought to be enough examples to get something going. If a work gets me sufficiently emotionally invested it's not difficult to get me to cry, laugh, get angry, or any of that.

Chrono Crusade when they are on the porch together and the clock is winding down!

don't think any story has made me cry for hours and hours...

the only time I remember crying for hours and hours... was when I was 4 years old and was watching Disney's Pinocchio... I cried whenever he nearly died and turned into a real boy

But as a fully conscious adult... no story have made me literally cry for hours. maybe during the scene, or 2 minutes after the scene ends. But it doesn't linger for hours and hours.

The ending of .Hack/Sign had me in a rage, after all the emotions the earlier episodes brought, the end angered me. I felt cheated put of a climax bit did receive the ending I needed.

Hotarubi no Mori e.
It's a movie.
And it's sad.
The end.
I can't get over.
For a month, I listen to this song every night,
and cried about the anime. Guess I'm just emotional.
