I can't get through Grave of the Fireflies without crying. I just can't do it. There is also one particular part of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood which really gets to me:

While we're at it, let's throw Puella Magi Madoka Magica into the mix:

That ought to be enough examples to get something going. If a work gets me sufficiently emotionally invested it's not difficult to get me to cry, laugh, get angry, or any of that.

Wasn't that part of Fullmetal Alchemist actually in the original anime and not Brotherhood? Not many things make me cry because I don't usually cry easily, but that part of the original anime gets me every time that I watch through it, and I've watched through it several times now.

As for the Madoka Magica thing, that part got to me as well, though I was more sad over it than actually crying. Like, depressed sad.

I cried when Rukia came back in Bleach to give Ichigo back his powers. It was more emotional for me than when she disappeared because he couldn't see her anymore. Maybe because someone who had read the manga ahead of me had told me that she came back. I literally watched that part of that episode until the end of it like five times over when I first watched the episode, crying almost the whole time every time.

And I took the Black Butler part out of my response because it's an anime that I want to watch at some point and don't want to be spoiled over it.

Fore me it is Angel Beats and Clannad. My wife saw me crying while watching Clannad and said she did not want to put herself through that.

I will say that some of the ones that made others on here cry (Like Elfen Lied) had me so angry at those causing the problems that tears would not come. With Clannad, it is just the pain that life can bring to anybody. With Angel Beats, the tears are often tears of relief because the character has found peace and moved on.

I have never cried at any fictional work ever. I cannot comprehend how someone can feel sad for a fictional character.

5 Centimeters per Second. I still can't watch the end song without crying uncontrollably.

Grave of the Fireflies - If you get through that movie without shedding some tears, you have no soul.

One Piece - Oda's writing and characterization is the only one that has ever made me feel things for an inanimate object. He gave Going Merry more heart, and more soul, than a large majority of main characters are given in other series.

One Piece - And then he topped it. NOT ON CRUNCHYROLL YET!

I've never watched Clannad but I hear it's quite the tear jerker. Should check it out at some point when I'm feeling too giddy.
